Other packages upgraded without incident, but when postfix was being upgraded I was presented with a pink screen titled 'Postfix Configuration', even though postfix has already been configured. The options included 'No configuration', 'Internet site', 'Internet with smarthost', 'Satellite system' and 'Local only'. [Bug 1169044] Re: can't install/upgrade postfix non interactively through apt
Thanks for your reply. It's great that you've got a clone - presumably even though I can't reproduce the issue, you can? Could you please clone again, but perform a few steps differently this time? This will help diagnose the issue. First, I don't understand what the changelog is in less at all. Please could you describe everything you see around that in more detail? Have you installed any kind of addon or modification that might affect the upgrade process? Then, from a clone to reproduce the problem, please run dpkg-query -W postfix to give me the version number you're upgrading from. Next, please install the debconf-tools package (before upgrading), then run debconf-get-selections|grep postfix and paste the output of that here. Then, to upgrade, run sudo DEBIAN_FRONTEND=text apt-get upgrade instead. This will show you the prompt without full screen mode, which will allow you to copy and paste the output more easily. Please try and capture the output of absolutely everything and attach it to this bug. Please don't skip any output - it may be important. To eliminate the less command to make it easier to capture that, you might try sudo DEBIAN_FRONTEND=text PAGER=cat apt-get upgrade. I'm not sure what the less invocation is, but this might eliminate it. Setting Incomplete again - please change to New when done (this is to clear it from the triage queue so that it pops up again when the bug needs attention). ** Changed in: postfix (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to postfix in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1169044 Title: can't install/upgrade postfix non interactively through apt To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/postfix/+bug/1169044/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1170325] Re: Facter 1.6.X not considering Qemu/KVM virtual type
Thanks for your swift reply. According to me, this bug is not a duplicate of bug 708080. This new bug occurs with the latest version of qemu-server (v 2.3.18) When using qemu-server v2.0.72, the output of /proc/cpuinfo shows QEMU Virtual CPU, and the fix was added to integrate QEMU/KVM types in facter. Now qemu-server has been updated, the /proc/cpuinfo does not show QEMU Virtual CPU anymore, but Common KVM processor. This causes this announced facter bugs, which does not recognize KVM as virtual machines. Please, let me know if I could submit you a valid bug report : on my side, I don't think the 2 cases are related, and this should not be a regression. [Bug 739495]
+1 here as well. I'm trying to set up a secure Apt archive using ssh to limit access. I'm also making a Debian package to set up access to the archive, so it would be nice to add the Host stanza to a separate file for maintenance reasons. Methods such as using aliases/scripts to aggregate the various config files before execing ssh won't work for this, as apt-get is not going to call an shell-defined alias. Guess I'm gonna have to fall back to my old method of using scripts to rewrite /etc/ssh/ssh_config - which is a horrible way to do things. This is precisely why pretty much every major Linux service uses config.d directories instead of monolithic config files. EXCEPT OPENSSH. This request has now been ignored for 4 years. [Bug 1170458] [NEW] iptables service not functionnal - Solution included
*** This bug is a security vulnerability *** Public security bug reported: logwatch does not include blocked connexions (iptables). As this is an entry point in monitoring servers and because blocked connexion can be a symptom of break-in attempts, having no report on them while you expect to can be a big problem Sorry for not submitting a patch, this is beyond my knowledge and time, but since it's three lines of code, here's my fix with a bit of explanation : in /usr/share/logwatch/dist.conf/services/iptables.conf, set the logfile to syslog or kern.log : LogFile = /var/log/kern.log After doing so, the logfile are not parsed properly. While you now get reports, the aggregation is not acurate Basically, the cleanup regexp does not account for the fact that for small kernel timestamps, there is a space at the beginning of the stamp. in /usr/share/logwatch/scripts/services/iptables on line 132 The old regexp is : $ThisLine =~ s/^... .. ..:..:.. ([^ ]*) (kernel: )?(\[\d+\.\d+\] )?//; The right regexp would be : $ThisLine =~ s/^... .. ..:..:.. ([^ ]*) (kernel: )?(\[ *\d+\.\d+\] )?//; Here is an example of a log line that would not work, because of the space in the timestamp [ 1690.227087] Apr 18 18:05:37 rack1 kernel: [ 1690.227087] fw: IN= OUT=eth0 SRC=166.78.158.192 DST=72.14.183.239 LEN=76 TOS=0x00 PREC=0xC0 TTL=64 ID=0 DF PROTO=UDP SPT=123 DPT=123 LEN=56 have fun, Frank ** Affects: logwatch (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: iptables logwatch ** Information type changed from Private Security to Public Security -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to logwatch in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1170458 Title: iptables service not functionnal - Solution included To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/logwatch/+bug/1170458/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Re: [Bug 1168250] Re: [Nexus7] guvcview crashed when changing resolution
Hi Bryce, I'll try to reproduce that event with today's daily build of Lubuntu i386 desktop. I didn't keep the picture, it was the default jpeg picture from the webcam with my ugly face ;-) I think the bug is still there, that the jpeg picture is not read by the default picture viewer of Lubuntu, gpicview. But Xorg will not crash every time I try this procedure (and I don't know what makes it crash). Best regards Nio On 2013-04-17 20:15, Bryce Harrington wrote: Please attach the picture that caused the crash (if it can be shared). First I noticed that it works with the built in camera :-) Then I noticed that the default setting (to save a jpeg picture) creates a bad picture file, that cannot be read by gpicview. [Bug 1073433] Re: Ext4 corruption associated with shutdown of Ubuntu 12.10
Morning, 'halt'... and / is busy again. VERBOSE=yes in /etc/default/rcS didn't help either. Just a few messages are added: * Will now unmount temporary filesystems tmpfs has been unmounted * Will now deactivate swap swapoff on /dev/sdb1 * Mounting root filesystem read-only... umount: /run/lock: not mounted umount: /run/shm: not mounted mount: / is busy I don't know how to debug it even more. Any ideas? P.S.: with 3.8 kernel from PPA Xorg doesn't start (lack of KMS or something). So currently I can't fully test it with a new kernel. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1073433 Title: Ext4 corruption associated with shutdown of Ubuntu 12.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/upstart/+bug/1073433/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1170225] [NEW] Intel SNA garbled screen when detaching from the docking station
Public bug reported: I have the Dell E6510 laptop with the following Intel VGA: Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0046] (rev 02). The laptop sits docked in the docking station. [Bug 1160042] Re: Scroll speed too fast with Microsoft mice
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: Ever since I use my Microsoft Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000, I get the problem, that scrolling is extremely fast after restarting the computer after using Windows. The issue seems to be well documented, as several other users have come across this problem [1]. The common workaround seems to be un- and replugging the mouse's usb adaptor [2]. I can confirm this workaround works. Another solution is offered by Paul Richards with his resetmsmice script [3][4]. These utilities do work, and it is less difficult to run a single sudo command than to go duck diving underneath my desk each time I start ubuntu. According to this [5] thread, he has also submitted a kernel patch, but it does not seem to have made it through to me, as the problem perseveres even with ubuntu 12.10. Is there any possibilities of adding these kernel fixes to the kernel used by ubuntu? I have never comiled a kernel myself, but I would gladly assist testing anything.
