[Bug 868904] Re: Redshift fails to start with session due to geoclue failure
What works for me (13.04) 1.Add this to startup applications "redshift -l 22.00:77.00 -t 4500:4000 -v " 2.Replace "22.00:77.00" with your location.(hint : find your location here "http://whatsmylatlng.com/"; ) 3.This sets the location manually , bypassing geoclue ( hint : "redshift -l lists") 4. The -t 4500:4000 is of the form -t DAY:NIGHT , replace with desired values 5. -v is for verbose output -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/868904 Title: Redshift fails to start with session due to geoclue failure To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/redshift/+bug/868904/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1209511] [NEW] wpa_supplicant: AP mode support not included in the build
Public bug reported: Since Network Manager now supports internet sharing over a Wi-Fi connection using Access Point (infrastructure) rather than Hotspot (Ad- Hoc) mode, AP support is required in wpa_supplicant. This is absolutely necessary in order to share internet with most new mobile phones. To use this, you need to edit the file for your shared internet connection, located in /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/ and under [802-11-wireless] set mode=ap. If you created a new file and it's not getting picked up, make it root:root, and only rwx to root. Start the connection with nmcli con up id your-connection-name. To see if this is successful, check the syslog. To see if your interface supports AP mode, run iw list. If you have multiple interfaces, it might be necessary to select the right one by adding a "mac" line. Just set the mac in the nm-applet interface on some other connection, and you'll see how it's set. I tested with a TP-Link TL-WN722N as the interface for AP mode and Samsung Galaxy S4 as client. ** Affects: wpasupplicant (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: access-point accesspoint ap ics sharing -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1209511 Title: wpa_supplicant: AP mode support not included in the build To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wpasupplicant/+bug/1209511/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1144322] Re: [Toshiba Satellite A80] Kernel 3.8.x Panic when disconnecting from network manager via ppp0
Hello Sorry, but I won't be able to install the latest test ISO 1) I'm using LTS 12.04.1, will use this till this version is officially supported and then will replace my old laptop along with the newer version of available ISO then. 2) I have spent too much time and effort on this version to make it run perfectly with minimum resources and up to my liking, formatting this and installing new ISO will waste everything. 3) I can live with Kernel 3.7.10, I just wanted to help the community by pointing to a possible bug in Blue-Tooth which was introduced with Kernel version 3.8.0 when a massive Blue-Tooth update was merged with kernel 3.8.0. Now if others don't want the kernel to be perfect, I can't do anything. Anyways I give up now. I had problems with: - NVIDIA driver: was using nvidia-310, but "no suitable driver" for the newer kernel - Unity: wouldn't come up - KVM: didn't come up (machine is mainly a host for VMs) I dropped back to 3.8.0-27 and am trying to repair Unity so I have a desktop manager again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1208532 Title: put_page failures with 3.8.0-27.40 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1208532/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1209471] [NEW] package dotclear 2.5+dfsg-1 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Public bug reported: I was upgrading to 13.10 after a variety of crashes (in telepathy, apport, and resume) no doubt caused by installing too much stuff, then pf-linux, then uninstalled that and kde. That allowed me to run the upgrade script, but there were several errors (apache2 has been misconfigured for a while, didn't play nice with upgrade. Dotclear was what gave my the option for a bug report, complete with several errors about changing properties, displaying, etc, after gnome-program class was initialized. I think that has something to do with it auto-opening firefox. I'm not sure what happened. Then the error was "dconf-CRITICAL unable to create new file" ProblemType: Package DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.10 Package: dotclear 2.5+dfsg-1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.8.0-28.41-generic 3.8.13.5 Uname: Linux 3.8.0-28-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.12-0ubuntu3 Architecture: amd64 Date: Wed Aug 7 23:28:15 2013 DuplicateSignature: package:dotclear:2.5+dfsg-1:ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 ErrorMessage: ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-04-28 (101 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 13.04 "Raring Ringtail" - Release amd64 (20130424) MarkForUpload: True PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: dotclear Title: package dotclear 2.5+dfsg-1 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to saucy on 2013-08-08 (0 days ago) ** Affects: dotclear (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-package saucy third-party-packages -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1209471 Title: package dotclear 2.5+dfsg-1 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dotclear/+bug/1209471/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1209020] Bug 1209020
Good Day Serge Hallyn Thank You for the reply You may have inadvertently solved this bug. Your questions: ls -l /etc/udev/rules.d total 16 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1450 Jul 23 09:23 56-hpmud.rules lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 37 Mar 24 14:36 62-nut-usbups.rules -> /lib/udev/rules.d/62-nut-usbups.rules -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 794 Aug 3 15:52 70-persistent-cd.rules -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 670 Mar 23 19:53 70-persistent-net.rules -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1157 Apr 5 2012 README cat /var/log/upstart/nut.log cat: /var/log/upstart/nut.log: No such file or directory cat /var/log/upstart/udev.log cat: /var/log/upstart/udev.log: No such file or directory My /var/log/udev.txt file in tar is almost 300kb. Do you really want it? Now my solution. Your text says that nut ships a 52 file and not a 62 file but I definitely have a reference to a 62 file because everything I did on the bug report was cut and pasted. The above rules.d 62 file links as shown to /lib/udev/rules.d/62-nut-usbups.rules. You wrote nut ships with a 52 file. It was logical to marry these two files up. I changed the link properties in /etc/udev/rules.d62-nut-usbups.rules from 62 to 52 but leaving the filename the same. No more error message in boot.log! The 62 file is mentioned prominently in CENTOS and Red Hat. Maybe, someone somewhere should have include a 52 file instead of a 62 file. I don't know but my dirty fix works! [Bug 1209047] Re: SD Card not loading in Ubuntu 13.04
I attempted the kernel upgrade, but it did not complete successfully. I'm not sure what I did wrong, as I followed the instructions, but apparently it doesn't like my proprietary drivers for my video i have installed. That was what errored out. Everything else seemed to pass, so I had hoped that it meant just having to reinstall the drivers, but after reboot, I lost all functionallity of my desktop. If you could provide additional information on how to properly update the kernel, I would be willing to try again. But I would like to know how to back out of the update as well (after reboot). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1209047 Title: SD Card not loading in Ubuntu 13.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1209047/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1201528] Re: [Realtek ALC889] - Audio Playback Unavailable
Report of my findings: * kernel 3.2.0-51, works fine, audio playback did not break (attaching pulseaudio verbose log). * kernel 3.5.0-37, works fine: I made the impossible to break audio, tried 2 different reboots, opened mumble while playing music, installed skype on top of that and use it, audio did not break. There was some glitches between skype and mumble stepping into each other (as in, the first one to start would "lock" the audio device and the other will not start properly), but closing one of the programs will make the othwr works fine. Attaching pulseaudio verbose log. * kernel 3.8.0-27, breaks audio playback, rather easily. Just opening mumble and connecting to server, and starting a conversation will break it. Attaching pulseaudio verbose log, this is the biggest log file, lots of "Underrun!" in it. Joseph: I know you expected kernel 3.5 to break audio but I did my best and could not break it.
