[Bug 1204507] Re: MAAS rejects empty files

2013-08-19 Thread Runar Ingebrigtsen
Reinstalled MAAS-server using 12.04, and got here:
http://maas.ubuntu.com/docs/juju-quick-start.html

The ~/.juju/environments.yaml looks like this:
juju: environments
environments:
  maas:
type: maas
maas-server: 'http://localhost/MAAS'
maas-oauth: '${maas-api-key}'
admin-secret: 'nothing'

Except the maas-oauth is the key from http://cloud/MAAS/account/prefs/

mer@cloud:~$ juju status
error: no default environment found
mer@cloud:~$ juju status -e maas -v
2013-08-19 09:45:07 ERROR juju supercommand.go:235 command failed: no instances
found
error: no instances found

What does this mean? I have two nodes in my MAAS, so that shouldn't be
the instances not found.

[Bug 1213915] [NEW] Please demote ceph-mds and ceph-fs-common to universe

2013-08-19 Thread James Page
Public bug reported:

I noticed this while upgrading a test ceph cluster; ceph-mds and ceph-
fs-common where specifically excluded from the scope of the original MIR
for ceph - the POSIX filesystem implementation that they provide is not
'production ready' as yet so these packages need to be demoted to

Sorry, i cannot test these packages since i've no accounts in
expiration for the next 30 days. But looking at the diff from the
previous version i see that modifications are exactly like the package
i built by myself to avoid this bug and used for months.

So for me is ok.

[Bug 1212823] Re: saucy armhf container does not start

2013-08-19 Thread Serge Hallyn
Thanks for reporting this bug. The rsyslog failure however is a bug in
qemu-arm-static rather than in lxc.

Note that while the rsyslog respawns are filling up your console, the
container should still be running. You should be able to log in on
console (I can), and you can also start the container in the background
and attach to a different console to avoid the messages. Lastly, you
can change /etc/init/rsyslog.conf to add 'manual' on a line by itself to
prevent rsyslog from starting.

I could see the container was running but lxc-console yielded only this:

Type Ctrl+a q to exit the console, Ctrl+a Ctrl+a to enter Ctrl+a
itself

Adding manual to rsyslog.conf results in a quieter start but still I cannot log
on.

[Bug 1208455] Re: general protection fault running apt-get inside double nested kvm VM

2013-08-19 Thread Stefan Bader
Trying to summarize my testing so far:

Host: saucy 64bit, 1rst level saucy 32bit, 2nd level saucy 32bit:
- 2nd level guest did not start when using qemu-system-x86_64:
  - This may be some regression or feature, not sure, yet.
- Using qemu only (defaulting to same arch) the 2nd level guest starts:
  - I saw many NMI (21 / 31) messages which looks not good.
  - One run completed, the other caused a double fault in 2nd level.

Host: Saucy 64bit, 1rst level saucy 64bit, 2nd level saucy 32bit:
- Not ultimately required, but also using qemu (not qemu-system-x86_64).
- Works much better but doing many loops at some point there is a double
   fault too.

Host: Quantal 64bit, 1rst level saucy 32bit, 2nd level saucy 32bit:
- Had the lockups when using qemu-system-x86_64.
- Currently completed 3 runs (needs more time) with qemu only call.

Host: Quantal 64bit, 1rst level saucy 64bit, 2nd level saucy 32bit:
- With qemu only call now completed run 7.

This is not conclusive yet as I need more runs, but Quantal as host
seems more stable than Saucy. The question is whether this is also true
for Precise as host (unfortunately my test HW is too new, so its wired
network is not supported back in Precise). James, maybe you want to try
that. One critical change seems to be the use of qemu instead of qemu-
system-x86_64. I am not sure whether starting a 64bit system with
hardware acceleration from a 32bit system is something that is supposed
to work. Well the emulated cpu likely claims 64bit capability but then I
am not sure whether that combo is so well tested with respect to other
interfaces.

[Bug 1213795] [NEW] newer kernels (3.10+) don't boot on MacBook Air 6.1

Public bug reported:

The current raring kernel boots (with nosmp and libata.force=noncq),
newer kernels don't boot at all. They hang with ramdisk loading and
nothing seems to happen. This is difficult to debug, as it happens so
early in the boot.

[Bug 1035556] Re: 1002:9442 Monitor not detected via DisplayPort [Radeon HD 4850]

2013-08-19 Thread madbiologist
No, not the RADEON FRAMEBUFFER DISPLAY DRIVER. That maintainer list
seems to be incomplete. The closest one would be DRM DRIVERS (David
Airlie) however he pretty much just takes what the AMD developers send
him. For DisplayPort issues your best bet is to email Alex Deucher and
attach copies of the output of lspci -vvnn and xrandr --prop. It's
also probably pointing him to
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60231 with it's dmesg that
has been expanded by use of the debug parameter. To avoid spam in
launchpad I'll say that you can find his email address at
https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=8a53fa23fd3e7c22d93f28e6aaae8358c53326ba

I'm going to look through the dmesg at
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60231 now.

[Bug 975327] Re: libhupnp 1.0.0, cagibi =0.2, kio-upnp-ms, all needed in repositories

2013-08-19 Thread José Tomás Atria
Awesome, I recompiled solid with upnp support as per carlos'
instructions, and everything works in most of kde and dolphin, etc.

Thanks a lot for the diff... I would have not known how to add libhupnp

Amarok refuses to work, though, and I have no idea how to debug it...

Needless to say, please include this kio-slave into kubuntu.

Re: [Bug 1177092] Re: thunderbird crashes/stall x-server

2013-08-19 Thread DCmartiX
To directly answer your question, I do not know if it happens in safe
mode. I never tried the CLI.

I cannot recall where I saw the reference, but there is some known
problem with the Nvidia nouveau packages; apparently, switching to
Nvidia current would fix this. I have actually stopped using that
version of Lubuntu with Firefox Thunderbird. The HDD was wiped, and a
lightweight remix of 12.04 from Remastersys with the Equinox desktop
(EDE) and the pekwm window manager was installed. Personal files were
reinstalled from back-up, of course. :)

http://www.remastersys.com/forums/index.php?topic=2345.0

The X-server just freezing does not occur in this distro.

Thank you, Mr. Leggewie.

[Bug 910672] Re: [REDWOOD] dell U2410 monitor repeatedly turns itself on and off when suspended

2013-08-19 Thread Tim Cuthbertson
Apologies for not updating this ticket. I've been running fedora for the
last few releases. The fedora bug
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=714334) has been fixed for
a while now.

Given that it originally occurred on both, hopefully it's just an an
upstream fix that ubuntu will get if you've merged xorg-x11-drv-ati,
version 6.14.3. I'm afriad I can't test it out though, as I no longer
run ubuntu - perhaps one of the other affected users can test?

[Bug 1213824] [NEW] CVE-2013-1059

2013-08-19 Thread John Johansen
*** This bug is a security vulnerability ***

Public security bug reported:

net/ceph/auth_none.c in the Linux kernel through 3.10 allows remote
attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and
system crash) or possibly have unspecified other impact via an
auth_reply message that triggers an attempted build_request operation.

[Bug 1045054] Re: minetest crashed with SIGSEGV

2013-08-19 Thread Martin Quinson
According to the stacktrace, this is right after starting the program,
in the main menu.

Since this bug is rather old now (version 3.1 while 4.7 is currently
packaged) and since this was not reproduced since then, I'd say that we
can close this bug.

Unless of course if the submitter comes with a way to reproduce the
change.

Bye, Mt

[Bug 1213829] [NEW] Unity panel crashes when switching tabs in Kile

2013-08-19 Thread Floris Van den Abeele
Public bug reported:

When editing multiple documents in Kile, switching tabs inside Kile by
left clicking on the tab makes the panel disappear and then reappear
(this takes 1 second or so). This is also accompanied by a CPU load
spike (whether due to the crash or the restarting of the panel service I
cannot say).
