[Bug 1212823] Re: saucy armhf container does not start
Thanks for reporting this bug. The rsyslog failure however is a bug in qemu-arm-static rather than in lxc. Note that while the rsyslog respawns are filling up your console, the container should still be running. You should be able to log in on console (I can), and you can also start the container in the background and attach to a different console to avoid the messages. Lastly, you can change /etc/init/rsyslog.conf to add 'manual' on a line by itself to prevent rsyslog from starting. ** Package changed: lxc (Ubuntu) = qemu (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: qemu (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium ** Changed in: qemu (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1212823 Title: saucy armhf container does not start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu/+bug/1212823/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1212823] Re: saucy armhf container does not start

[Bug 1208455] Re: general protection fault running apt-get inside double nested kvm VM
Trying to summarize my testing so far: Host: saucy 64bit, 1rst level saucy 32bit, 2nd level saucy 32bit: - 2nd level guest did not start when using qemu-system-x86_64: - This may be some regression or feature, not sure, yet. - Using qemu only (defaulting to same arch) the 2nd level guest starts: - I saw many NMI (21 / 31) messages which looks not good. - One run completed, the other caused a double fault in 2nd level. Host: Saucy 64bit, 1rst level saucy 64bit, 2nd level saucy 32bit: - Not ultimately required, but also using qemu (not qemu-system-x86_64). - Works much better but doing many loops at some point there is a double fault too. Host: Quantal 64bit, 1rst level saucy 32bit, 2nd level saucy 32bit: - Had the lockups when using qemu-system-x86_64. - Currently completed 3 runs (needs more time) with qemu only call. Host: Quantal 64bit, 1rst level saucy 64bit, 2nd level saucy 32bit: - With qemu only call now completed run 7. This is not conclusive yet as I need more runs, but Quantal as host seems more stable than Saucy. The question is whether this is also true for Precise as host (unfortunately my test HW is too new, so its wired network is not supported back in Precise). James, maybe you want to try that. One critical change seems to be the use of qemu instead of qemu- system-x86_64. I am not sure whether starting a 64bit system with hardware acceleration from a 32bit system is something that is supposed to work. Well the emulated cpu likely claims 64bit capability but then I am not sure whether that combo is so well tested with respect to other interfaces. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu-kvm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1208455 Title: general protection fault running apt-get inside double nested kvm VM To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1208455/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1035556] Re: 1002:9442 Monitor not detected via DisplayPort [Radeon HD 4850]
No, not the RADEON FRAMEBUFFER DISPLAY DRIVER. That maintainer list seems to be incomplete. The closest one would be DRM DRIVERS (David Airlie) however he pretty much just takes what the AMD developers send him. For DisplayPort issues your best bet is to email Alex Deucher and attach copies of the output of lspci -vvnn and xrandr --prop. It's also probably pointing him to https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60231 with it's dmesg that has been expanded by use of the debug parameter. To avoid spam in launchpad I'll say that you can find his email address at https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=8a53fa23fd3e7c22d93f28e6aaae8358c53326ba I'm going to look through the dmesg at https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60231 now. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1035556 Title: 1002:9442 Monitor not detected via DisplayPort [Radeon HD 4850] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1035556/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1177092] Re: thunderbird crashes/stall x-server
To directly answer your question, I do not know if it happens in safe mode. I never tried the CLI. I cannot recall where I saw the reference, but there is some known problem with the Nvidia nouveau packages; apparently, switching to Nvidia current would fix this. I have actually stopped using that version of Lubuntu with Firefox Thunderbird. The HDD was wiped, and a lightweight remix of 12.04 from Remastersys with the Equinox desktop (EDE) and the pekwm window manager was installed. Personal files were reinstalled from back-up, of course. :) http://www.remastersys.com/forums/index.php?topic=2345.0 The X-server just freezing does not occur in this distro.
