According to your logfile, the problem seems to be here:

newaliases: fatal: file /etc/postfix/main.cf: parameter mydomain: bad

hostname in main.cf needs to be a valid hostname, not an IP address.
Please can you update that config and reboot postfix to check if that
helps?

2013-10-10 Thread Yolanda Robla
Problem is an invalid entry in hostname. You should edit /etc/postfix/main.cf
and set a valid hostname entry then, after that reboot postfix.
However, this issue is experimented for several users, so marking that as bug
because there should be a problem in configuration, setting an invalid hostname
there by default.

[Blueprint servercloud-s-ceph] Ceph activities for Saucy

2013-10-10 Thread James Page
Blueprint changed by James Page:

Whiteboard changed:
  [USER STORIES]
Jonas (who works for a Bank) wants to deploy Ceph with encryption of
underlying physical disks to ensure confidentiality in post-lifecycle
decommissioning of servers. He's able to deploy Ceph Dumpling with dm-crypt
encryption from the Havana Cloud Archive for Ubuntu 12.04.

James want to ensure the quality of the Ceph packages in the Ubuntu
archive at all times; as the packages include DEP-8 tests these are used
to gate uploads into the main development archive.

  [ASSUMPTIONS]
Server QA lab will be virtualized using OpenStack supporting regular testing
activities.

  [RISKS]
mod_fastcgi patches not suitable for inclusion.

  [IN SCOPE]
  mod_fastcgi patches
  ceph-deploy

  [OUT OF SCOPE]

  [USER ACCEPTANCE]
Multi-node testing of Ceph on a regular basis using Juju charms.
DEP-8 automated testing of Ceph providing gated entry of Ceph packages into
the Ubuntu Archive.

  [RELEASE NOTE/BLOG]
- Ubuntu 13.10 includes Ceph 0.67.2 (Dumpling stable release), providing
improved performance and efficiency and block device encryption.
+ Ubuntu 13.10 includes Ceph 0.67.4 (Dumpling stable release), providing
improved performance and efficiency and block device encryption.

I installed Twonky media server per instructions at the following link:
http://www.dickson.me.uk/2010/11/02/installing-twonkyserver-on-ubuntu-lucid-lunx-10-04-1/

Even though the instructions were written for Ubuntu 10.04 I figured the
distro had not changed that much. Twonky was working for several weeks
prior to the update errors. The music files I am attempting to stream are
located on the 2nd internal hard drive.

I also attempted to change the way my 2nd internal hard drive is mounted.
From mounting when a user clicked on it (me) in Home folder to mounting at
system boot (all users, all the time available). I still have not got that
figured out. The update problem seemed started occurring after I tried
changing the hard drive mount. I backed out of everything I did here.

I'm thinking I need to re-install Ubuntu 12.04. Unfortunately I'm better at
Windows than Linux, this seems way over my head to debug.

Any additional ideas?

Thanks. //mark breithart

enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

[Bug 1238160] [NEW] pear puts config in wrong directory

With PHP 5.4, ini files were stored in /etc/php5/mods-available/ and
symlinked into a global ini directory /etc/php5/conf.d/, which inturn
was symlinked as the conf.d directory in all the flavors of PHP. When
PEAR installed an extension it would add the file to /etc/php5/conf.d/
and so would be avaliable regardless of how you ran php (cli, cgi, fpm).

With PHP 5.5 there no longer is a /etc/php5/conf.d/ directory, modules
are still installed into /etc/php5/mods-available/ but are directly
symlinked into the flavor conf.d directory. When PEAR installs a module
it either fails to create the ini file if the directory does not exist,
or if you create the directory it will create the ini fine but not
symlink it into the php flavors.

I would expect either PHP 5.5. to use the old directory structure so
that PEAR modules are loaded as expected, or for PEAR to create the base
conf.d directory and symlink its own inis into the php flavors.

I'm trying to reproduce this (using a 64k cluster size 2G qcow2 rootfs).
Does simply having heavy filesystem activity in parallel trigger this,
or should I be doing something else as well? Does it help to have qcow2
snapshots?

[Bug 1100843] Re: Live Migration Causes Performance Issues

2013-10-10 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Mark, or anyone else affected,

Accepted qemu-kvm into precise-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu-kvm/1.0+noroms-
0ubuntu14.12 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1210253] Re: With Havana 2 installed, Launching horizon UI results in the error NameError: name 'Dashboard' is not defined

2013-10-10 Thread Adam Gandelman
Just tested with a fresh system and fresh package installation from the
Cloud Archive Havana proposed pocket. Installed horizon
1:2013.2~rc1-0ubuntu2~cloud0 (havana release candidate) and everything
is working fine. Steps to do minimal test:

apt-get install openstack-dashboard
edit /etc/openstack-dashboard/local_settings.py, update OPENSTACK_HOST to point
to your keystone hostname.
restart apache2, surf to http://$host/horizon, login.

Be sure you're using the most recent package version. Note there are 3
pockets in the Cloud Archive and I suspect you are using the -updates
pocket which, during the dev. cycle, does not get as frequent updates as
the -staging and -proposed pockets.

[Bug 1236965] Re: pulseaudio does not recognize internal speakers [P180HMx, Realtek ALC892, Speaker, Internal] volume slider problem

2013-10-10 Thread David Henningsson
Going through the comments, I hope I don't miss anything:

I removed the -v argswitch from your test; not supported on my box.

Sorry, confused speaker-test with aplay. Aplay has a -v switch that can
give some debug information.

 1. both in stereo and surround profiles
I don't understand what this means. Where do I specify my audio-profile?

There should be a way to select profile - in Gnome sound settings it's a
combobox called Mode:, in pavucontrol it's on the configuration tab.
However, now looking at your original PulseList.txt, the surround
profile does not even show up, so we need to look at that first. Without
that surround profile, anything that goes through pulseaudio will be
stereo only.

 2. In future tests, would pulseaudio -k suffice, rather than a full
reboot?

Yes. Just make sure pulseaudio actually does restart.

[Bug 1237794] [NEW] hard lockup on filserver

2013-10-10 Thread Sean Clarke
Public bug reported:

Hi,
My Core i7 18TB BTRFS file server has been upgraded to 13.10 and since
doing so locks up frequently. Previously it never crashed and was only taken
down for maintenance, Monday we upgraded to 13.10 and since then it locks up
ever 20hrs or so. We were doing a large backup last night and it locked up
within 6 or so hrs.

On the 1st occurrence absolutely nothing was in the logs, on the 2nd
occurrence there was some NFS hang messages, when system comes back up I
will check and post any logging information gleaned.

[Bug 1233988] Re: With Mir enabled: maliit-server crashed with SIGABRT in __gnu_cxx::__verbose_terminate_handler(), thrown from mir::client::DisplayConfiguration::copy_to_client()

2013-10-10 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Yep, the stack trace in comment #3 seems to show
MirConnection::valid_connections is empty. So platform-api and/or Maliit
is passing an invalid MirConnection pointer.

Although the stack trace also shows other globals uninitialized, which
supports Alan's theory of comment #11.

[Bug 1237306] Re: lightdm + LDAP login intermitent fail

2013-10-10 Thread Marc Pignat
Dear Robert,

Thank you for you answer.

The text login works 100% of the time.

Your question about the local user is interesting.
The home directory is created at the first login, but my problem arises even if
the directory exists.

There is no error in /var/log/auth.log

My intuition is that lightdm caches the user information before it is
available, because after one User 'X' authorized, but no account of
that name exists, the only solution to make it work is to restart
lightdm.

Disabling nscd does not fix the problem.
