Rafael Levi [2013-11-15 19:44 -]: I understand that it's difficult to deal with several bugs that look the same. Before I file a new bug. Is there anything I can do to distinguish the bug I have from the solve one? For one, if the -proposed package didn't help then that's a strong indication that it's a different bug. I suggest with the proposed package installed, you create a D-BUS system monitor log (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingDBus) and attach it to a new bug. [Bug 1251839] [NEW] package libvirt-bin 1.1.1-0ubuntu8.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Public bug reported: I just want to have virt-manager + libvirt running. it seems like /etc/libvirt/qemu.conf doesn't exist (the folder does). but reinstalling libvirt doesn't fix that either. Interestingly my laptop's 13.10 works just fine, however, this 13.10 install here was a clean install too (no upgrade). [Bug 1186512] Re: [USB-Audio - Fast Track Ultra, playback] Playback problem
hello, please excuse the delay. first of all i must report, that the abovementioned reply from grant diffey: It sounds to me like you haven't set up the internal mixer of the ultra correctly this will sound bad. was actually right. after lots of guesswork i dug into alsamixer's effect faders and they were wrongly set because of, probably, both settings made under windows as well as certain inconsistency in card's setup between systems (i.e. the wrong linux setting wouldn't manifest itself under windows at the same time). so i'm marking it as invalid. however, i believe this is a symptom of a serious problem. if the system is rendered unusable (at least to me) for over a year and there's no way to get clear solution (the above answer was too enigmatic to me), there seems to be a problem with the whole ecosystem. please comment on how similar cases can be solved effectively. now to answer above questions (i actually indirectly answered it before): the gnome/unity sound control lets me change balance, fade and bass, however balance and fade are illogically entangled (moving one may move the other). am i expected to do any tests regarding your log question? thank you for the support. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1186512 Title: [USB-Audio - Fast Track Ultra, playback] Playback problem To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1186512/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1245926] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to Alt+Shift
In saucy there are no problems. But in trusty I found some strange behavior of g-c-c/Text entry: 1) there is [Alt+Shift_L] in g-c-c/Text entry 2) getting preference of 'org.freedesktop.ibus.general.hotkey next-engine' set it to ['Alt+Shift_L'] 3) default settings in '/etc/default/keyboard' are 'XKBOPTIONS=grp:alt_shift_toggle,grp_led:scroll' But after each log in I can switch on next layout by [Shift+Alt_L] only (i.e. I should hold Shift first then press Alt and release), not [Alt+Shift_L]. [Bug 912702] Re: [MASTER] Endlessly many Wireless Network Authentication Required dialogs put up
I had this problem last night. The cause in my case was that I changed the network password from another machine, and the machine that the problem was on was left on all night. When I got to it in the morning there were many dozens of Wifi network identification required dialogue windows open, which indeed won't go away very quickly. nm- applet is using a whole core all to itself, and not doing a lot. The wifi is in the meantime connected, but the dialogue boxes will not go away. [Bug 1137817] Re: [ivb] [WORTMANN TERRA MOBILE ULTRABOOK 1450 II] System freeze after high memory usage

Public bug reported: Ubuntu 12.04, but the problem is also on older versions Trying to install packages which are added to the sources list by deb file:, and the system has been refreshed (i.e. the packages appear under local in Synaptic), fails. It fails in that way, instead installing it from the local file repository, the system tries to download it from the Ubuntu repositories, and if there is no internet connection, the local files are ignored and no installation is made. Man page sources.list (5) says: The source list /etc/apt/sources.list is designed to support any number of active sources and a variety of source media. The file lists one source per line, with the most preferred source listed first. The sources.list has been edited manually and the deb file: line was set as the first line. When all Ubuntu repositories are disabled and only the deb file: remains, the installation is performed. I am referring to: Bug #2366203 “Edgy web repository overrides local repository” This bug was about a similar problem, but was closed Bug #1014277 Ubuntu Software Center does not installing packages from Local repository was declared duplicate of bug 911706 Bug #911706 USC relies on NM to be online, can't force online if not using NM The difference to what I have to report is: There the problem is only with USC, while my problem is obviously in apt. Public bug reported: On 13.04 with two mobile broadband devices disabling Mobile Broadband only disables the first device. The first device is an internal min-PCIe device, the second an external USB 'dongle'. Both devices use the same connection APN info so disabling a connection is not a workaround. As the external device is presenting as two USB serial interfaces other processes cannot access the serial ports whilst Network Manager has them open. There needs to be an option to disable individual devices where there is more than one since the first device may be the primary WAN connection, so disabling all Mobile Broadband would not be desired. ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1251852 Title: Unable to disable more than one Mobile Broadband device To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1251852/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
