[Bug 1363366] [NEW] DNSSEC for dnsmasq

2014-08-30 Thread Andreas Schildbach
Public bug reported:

This is a wishlist item.

I'd like to use DNSSEC for dnsmasq out of the box. Currently support for
DNSSEC appears to be disabled at compile time: if I add dnssec options
to the dnsmasq.conf, it doesn't accept the configuration. I'm using
Ubuntu Trusty.

As a workaround, I currently configured DNSSEC to proxy via upstream DNS
with the proxy-dnssec option -- but this is insecure.

[Bug 1301623] Re: unity freezes when moving windows among workspaces

2014-08-30 Thread Jordan Grant
I have the same problem. It just started out of the blue a few weeks ago. I
assume after some update as I regularly accept updates. Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Intel
Core i5-3320M CPU on Lenovo Thinkpad T430s 64-bit.
System doesn't completely freeze because I can move between fields in the
minaturized windows by pressing tab and can respond to some options.
Only way out seemed to be hard reboot, until I was shown a temporary fix:
cntrl alt F1 to get to a terminal
log in with username and password
   unity --replace enter
cntrl alt f7 to return to the desktop
but top menu bar did not return
had to shut down from the terminal
   sudo shutdown -h now

[Bug 1363351] Crash report cannot be processed

2014-08-30 Thread Apport retracing service
Thank you for your report!

However, processing it in order to get sufficient information for the
developers failed (it does not generate a useful symbolic stack trace). This
might be caused by some outdated packages which were installed on your system
at the time of the report:

libc6 version 2.19-4ubuntu2 required, but 2.19-10ubuntu1 is available

Please upgrade your system to the latest package versions. If you still
encounter the crash, please file a new report.

Thank you for your understanding, and sorry for the inconvenience!

[Bug 1363361] [NEW] Machine does not wake up to wakeonlan magic packets after shutdown -h now

2014-08-30 Thread Dave Chiluk
Public bug reported:

How to reproduce with linux-lts-trusty
1. Enable wake on lan in bios
2. Boot *(however you want to boot)
3. Check that device supports wakeonlan
ethtool eth0
# the Wake-on: setting should include g
4. shutdown -h now
5. wakeonlan -i ip address mac address
 in my case
/usr/bin/wakeonlan -i 192.168.1.91 38:60:77:86:bf:71
6. Watch how little happens.

I already did a mainline bisect, and the v3.8.12-raring works great
v3.8.13-raring fails miserably. I'll try to continue the bisect.

I also verified that full trusty also experiences this issue. I should
check if upstream mainline is also seeing this.

[Bug 1362734] Re: settings manager contains entries (icons) that are obsolete and cannot be fixed or removed

2014-08-30 Thread MR Zenwiz
There are way more entries in both of those directories than show up in
the settings manager, but since I can't tell which is which, I suppose
I'll have to trust the software.

Having been in software development for over 34 years, I can assure you
that is not a comforting thought.

[Bug 1363366] [NEW] DNSSEC for dnsmasq

2014-08-30 Thread Andreas Schildbach
Public bug reported:

This is a wishlist item.

I'd like to use DNSSEC for dnsmasq out of the box. Currently support for
DNSSEC appears to be disabled at compile time: if I add dnssec options
to the dnsmasq.conf, it doesn't accept the configuration. I'm using
Ubuntu Trusty.

As a workaround, I currently configured DNSSEC to proxy via upstream DNS
with the proxy-dnssec option -- but this is insecure.

[Bug 648424] Re: Export doesn't deal with different files with same filename

2014-08-30 Thread Ian Young
Still present in 0.18.1. I discovered that the Send To... option
actually handles this correctly, so a workaround is choosing that
option, closing the mail window and pulling the generated files out of
`/tmp`. Still, would be much, much nicer if Export worked the same way
instead of silently losing photos.

[Bug 1341925] Re: [Dell Inspiron 11 - 3147] System will hang on reboot / poweroff

2014-08-30 Thread sdee
@grifter

I tried ubuntu 12.04 from USB stick and reboot works properly.

As for suspend/resume this appears not to be supported in 12.04 as a
suspend option is not present in the drop down OS menu that contains the
logout/reboot/shutdown options. It may require installation to the
HDD (rather than running as Live demo from USB) to test that. This
also means testing suspend by closing laptop lid is not possible.

Is someone able to install 12.04 and check if suspend is an option once
fully installed?

[Bug 1362660] Re: [IBM 184348M] suspend/resume failure

2014-08-30 Thread Stephen Angelico
Initial experimentation - only the first suspend works. The second time,
it suspends and then un-suspends immediately. The third time, it blanks
the screen and flashes the sleep light until I run out of patience and
do a hard shutdown. I don't know if the attached log was attached
initially, but it may have more info now.

[Bug 1363313] Re: mpt2sas not loaded with LSISAS2008 card in trusty 14.04.1

2014-08-30 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Paul Johnson, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.
Could you please test the latest upstream kernel available from the very top
line at the top of the page (not the daily folder) following
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional
upstream developers to examine the issue. Once you've tested the upstream
kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this
bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested exactly
shown as:
kernel-fixed-upstream-3.17-rc2

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil
icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

[Bug 1363378] [NEW] Meter background images wrong for BBC and EBU meter types

2014-08-30 Thread Richard Lamont
Public bug reported:

Version 0.4.1-3 amd64

The background images are wrong for the BBC and EBU meter types. Instead
of one image it appears to be three squashed-up images side by side in
the same area. It appears to be OK for the VU and DIN types. I haven't
checked the correlation meter types.

The problem seems to be caused by the compressed PNGs used. Comparing
the file sizes with the developer's source:

From Ubuntu package:

Using the larger PNG files fixes the problem. I don't know whether it's
a bug in the compression used, or a bug in jmeters.

[Bug 1358558] Re: kernel crash can't handler kernel paging request

2014-08-30 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
jiamo, please boot into the kernel that came with Ubuntu (not an
upstream/mainline one) and execute the following command, as it will
automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:
apport-collect 1358558
When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-bug' and
the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality

[Bug 1363223] Re: xfce4-power-manager outdated on-line help

2014-08-30 Thread Simon Steinbeiß
This is on our roadmap for the 1.4 release, however, since the UI has
changed a bit during the 1.3 releases, we haven't started yet.

Obviously if anyone wants to help, that'd be very welcome!

[Bug 1306500] Re: some keys stopped working: left right arrows, backspace

2014-08-30 Thread Tim Taylor
I am also suffering from this issue (both the inability to use the
delete key, and occasional very slow save times). The ibus exit trick
works for me, but I also just found another workaround which you can do
without exiting ibus:

After pressing the delete key (once or multiple times) in Gnucash, press
control-Space (this is the default keyboard shortcut in the ibus
preferences to select the next input method). Unless you have set up
multiple input methods in ibus, it won't actually switch anything, but
it does seem to have the effect of flushing the buffer, so the delete
action then gets executed.

[Bug 1363384] [NEW] CONFIG_DMA_CMA causes performance problems

2014-08-30 Thread Peter Júnoš
Public bug reported:

Hi,

after upgrade to utopic, regular freezes for some seconds to some
minutes appeared. Using custom kernel compiled from provided source of
3.16.0-11.16 with CONFIG_DMA_CMA=n solves the problem.

Linux freezes with up-to-date linux-image from repository (version
3.16.0-11.16). It doesn't matter, whether I use radeon or vesa driver.

Discussion about the bug in either X or kernel happened on
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/dri-devel/2014-August/065842.html

[Bug 883459]

2014-08-30 Thread Ago-sylvain
Using Kmail version 4.14 on archlinux. I enabled bogofilter and I have
the problem of multiple copies (thousands!) of the same mail when a new
mail arrives. seems to be the same as this bug. If I disable bogofilter,
the problem disappear.

I sent me an email from $m...@gmail.com to $PROMAIL@univ_mail and logged
everything. I waited to have multiple copies (5) before putting kmail
offline. when I put it online again it will download one more copies
(read state directly) and stop there (sorry no log).

Hope this can help

[Bug 883459]

2014-08-30 Thread Dandress2
KMail 4.13.3
Fedora 20 (testing and unstable repos in use)

I had the problem where a spam filter would endlessly duplicate emails.
I quickly removed the spam filter and things settled down. The problem
returns when I delete or move an email. The email will move to the
detination folder, only to shortly reappear, disabled and not
selectable, in the original folder.

I have two email accounts configured, GMail and the my employer's (ms
exchange server). The problem occurs almost exclussively with my
employer's account. Emails duplicate in the GMail spam folder, curiously
taking several minutes to show up instead of almost immediately.

I don't see akonadi being at fault. Running akonadictl fsck and vacuum
show no errors, and don't affect the problem. Deleteing the Adkonadi
database and starting over didn't help either. Yet, I can clear the
duplicates by using any other mail client and synching each folder
individually. To make a SWAG (stupid wild ass guess), I'd look for
something in LDAP usage.

Sorry to report a problem and not offer help. Thanks.

[Bug 1363387] [NEW] Hidden Unity toolbar still receives mouse clicks when fullscreen applications are unfocused in multihead environments

2014-08-30 Thread Benjamin Xiao
Public bug reported:

This is a follow up to bug #748539 which fixed the issue where the Unity
toolbar was still displaying on top of fullscreen applications if they
were unfocused. It is correctly hidden, but it seems like the toolbar
still receives mouse clicks. When I click in the region where the Unity
toolbar should be if it wasn't hidden, instead of clicking in the
fullscreen app, it registers as a mouse click on the toolbar.

For example:

1.) Open up Chrome and load any stream on Twitch.tv. Put Chrome on the first
monitor and fullscreen it.
2.) Focus on any application on the second monitor.
3.) Without changing focus, move mouse cursor back into first monitor and try
to click the Play/Pause button in Twitch. Instead of playing or pausing, it
launches the Trash.

[Bug 1335409] Re: [Acer Aspire V3-571G] Mousepad stopped working

2014-08-30 Thread teo1978
This policy of having bugs expire just because they are not reported on the
latest bios is ridiculous and must be changed.
Machines are out there with non updated BIOSes, and Linux must support them.
Other OSes support them.
The probability that a given bug will disappear by updating the BIOS are close
to zero, and even if that is the case, that doesn't mean that the bug is CAUSED
by a bug in the BIOS. The default assumption should be that the bug is in the
sotware, unless there a proof of the contrary, because that's what happens in
99.99% of cases.

Plus, a decent (and safe) way of updating the BIOS from within Ubuntu
without relying on booting from other OSes is not available. Until such
a thing is provided, you can't expect Ubuntu users to update their BIOS.

2014-08-30 Thread Aleksandar Valchev
Public bug reported:

[needs-packaging] activemq-cpp

activemq-cpp is a JMS-like API for C++ for interfacing with Message
Brokers such as Apache ActiveMQ. C++ messaging service helps to make
your C++ client code much neater and easier to follow. To get a better
feel for CMS try the API Reference. ActiveMQ-CPP is a client only
library, a message broker such as Apache ActiveMQ is still needed for
your clients to communicate.

License: Apache License 2
Notes: activemq-cpp and it's decaf library provides really useful functionality.
