I can confirm this bug which I can reproduce since many Ubuntu releases. This is why I switched to Fedora --> No problems! I can confirm, that restarting Network Manager CAN help, but not always! The best thing to do is to restart Network Manager and immediately refresh a web page. Pinging doesn't work reliable. This time, I can reproduce this bug with Ubuntu 17.04 Alpha/Beta. I still see this on Intel 14.04 machine with 4.4.0-64-generic #85~14.04.1-Ubuntu. It happens in fairly random way quite often after close and open of the laptop. However as an aside, I'd like to find the translation string for the new option since it says: "Specify the maximum number of routes the server is allowed so specify." [Bug 1670061] [NEW] gparted check option messes up FAT formated drives
Public bug reported: The check option in the version of gparted that is in the Ubuntu 16.04 LTS repositories has a known bug. When you run it on a USB drive formatted to either FAT or FAT32 it changes the drive. While the drive will still work on a Linux Machine it will not work on a Windows machine or another device that you might want to plug it into. I contacted the gparted folks on the gparted forums. Here is what the Developer said: Ubuntu 16.04 does not contain the upstream patch according to the Ubuntu Parted Changelog. Perhaps you could report the issue upstream to Ubuntu or even Debian? As mentioned before, you can hexedit and change the first three bytes to be "eb 58 90" so that Windows will recognize the FAT16/32 file system. The problem is not in the GParted source code. The problem is in the parted 3.2 source code. Hence it does not matter which version of GParted you use. The key thing is to use a patched version of parted when resizing FAT file systems. This patched version is included on recent GParted Live images. To fix recognition of the FAT file system after the problem has occurred, the file system needs the first three bytes to be set to "eb 58 90". Most of us who have taken the time to look into solutions to the issue would like to know that at least some programmer somewhere in the Ubuntu universe acknowledge that there might be a problem and that it is being looked into. Public bug reported: budgie-desktop should display GNOME based CSD headerbars. Due to the patching, it displays non GNOME based menus. Attached is a patch to resolve this. It has been tested on multiple desktop environments; It correctly displays a traditional menu bar for Unity. For both GNOME-Shell and budgie-desktop CSD is displayed. Note - I have taken the clean and consistent approach as the patching for gedit. The extant traditional and unity patches are confused - DESKTOP_SESSION comparison is hard-coded for GNOME - budgie-desktop uses the DESKTOP_SESSION of BUDGIE:GNOME. The traditional menu bar patch is inconsistent and uses a completely different algorithm that doesnt work with budgie-desktop. Running 4.4.0-64 in 16.04. This is definitely a flaky wireless driver. If I turn it off, and back on I cannot browse any ssids. If I suspend and resume, I cannot browse any ssids. I have recently added the options to the /etc/modprobe.d/rtl8821ae.conf file "options rtl8821ae ips=0 fwlps=0" It is improved, but can sometimes resume and not see any ssids.
