[Bug 1264795] Re: Alt+Tab Switcher randomly activates itself
I've used Ubuntu 16.4 in variuos computer mainly hp g4 250 without any problems. No I'm using the Aspire 5 A517-41G-7161 and I got the problem . Its particularly annoying because the applications switcher pops up randomly and lasts on the screen for a few seconds. The solutions here proposed are too technical for me to access. I need a more easy explanation if there is someone that have solved the problem. It's a pity, after so many years where I've been using Ubuntu, I'm thinking to migrate somewhere else. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1264795 Title: Alt+Tab Switcher randomly activates itself To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1264795/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Ubuntu's generic libcec package is not compiled with RPi3 support due to RPi3's libraries' license preventing that. [Bug 1715146] Re: Not Suspending When Lid is Closed Causing Heat Issue
Well it's good to hear the Thunderbolt update did clear things up with the initial issue. Just to probe a little more on the update process though: When you say thunderbolt enabled in setup can you be more specific which Thunderbolt options you're referring to? That first error is confusing to me because that means the controller enumerated but disappeared. Regarding the need for force power, that's expected with certain fwupd and kernel combinations if you have nothing plugged into the thunderbolt controller. The peculiar thing however is that the device enumerated to the extent that first error came up. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1715146 Title: Not Suspending When Lid is Closed Causing Heat Issue To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1715146/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1740059] [NEW] Kodi Sound is Distorted
Public bug reported: Since the upgrade to 'Bionic Beaver', Kodi sound has been distorted. I downgraded to Artful to check it's Kodi and sound is fine there. So this time I did a clean install of Bionic (last time I upgraded to Bionic I used the same home directory as I had for Artful and Debian distros prior, so I wanted to rule out a corruption via config file). Still, badly distorted audio in clean install. This is on metal btw, not hypervisor. Audio is fine in gnome-mpv, gnome-movie-player, and VLC. [Bug 1715146] Re: Not Suspending When Lid is Closed Causing Heat Issue
No, because it won't install. I tried "fwupdmgr install eac3961ba9bd466f6e34d9276c27d524395d7c3c- NN1TN_NVM21.00.cab", but I got: could not find thunderbolt device at /sys/devices/pci:00/:00:1c.0/:01:00.0/:02:00.0/:03:00.0/domain0/0-0 So I rebooted with Thunderbolt enabled. That gave me: Decompressing… [- ] could not validate firmware: Error reading from file: Input/output error. See https://github.com/hughsie/fwupd/wiki/Thunderbolt:-Validation-failed-or-unknown-device for more information. But a second call gave me the same error as before the reboot (i.e. as before re-enabling Thunderbolt). Enabling test fwupd remote through lvfs-testing.conf gave me the same results after refresh+update, so I guess I typed the right commands. Just after reboot, probably around the time of the first fwupdmgr call, I got this in the dmesg. [Bug 1464064] Re: Ubuntu apt repos are not available via HTTPS
I can't believe HTTPS hasn't been switched on in the 2.5 years since this bug was reported. It's a commonsense move that even Linus has made. There are truly no arguments against it. It's farcical to report kernel signatures, but then not provide either the package or the signature over a secure transport. What's the point in signing it at all? Kernel.org is distributing the releases over an HTTPS CDN with no problems, and Ubuntu is way behind the times on this. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1464064 Title: Ubuntu apt repos are not available via HTTPS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1464064/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1740046] [NEW] ubuntu installer crashes during installation from USB
Public bug reported: Installing ubuntu 17.10 from live USB. The live desktop works fine, installer runs, allows me to partition drives and set mount points, connects to wifi, downloads programs, etc. However, several minutes into the process, it stops and shows an error message that it was unable to install GRUB on / so the system won't be able to boot. Then it exits the installer. Situation: I am installing onto a SSD + HDD combination. The SSD is to mount / and hold the bootloader, while the HDD has an existing /home partition so I'm -not- formatting it. Possible clue: I started the USB installer in UEFI mode from my bios, but near the beginning of installation I received a warning that I was installing onto media with a legacy bios and that pushing on with UEFI will prevent the old system from booting. I assumed that was ok, as I was just going to format the old / partition on the HDD. Attached are /var/log/partman and /var/log/syslog Any ideas? [Bug 1740045] [NEW] microphone
Public bug reported: I'm using Xubuntu 17.10 and found that none of my microphones work anymore. One is a 4 mic array on the PS3 camera, which worked in other versions of Xubuntu. Typically, I download and compile the mainline Kernel for full PS3 cam support. I downloaded and compiled all of the ALSA and Pulseaudio packages to fix this but still no microphone. I can see it in the audio panel app, the microphones are there but they don't work. Works fine in Windows (except the PS3 cam). New Kernel did not work. 4.13.16 and 4.14.9. New Pulseaudio did not work. 1.11 New ALSA did not work. 1.1.15 Seems to be an issue with all recording devices. ** Affects: xfce4-volumed (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: devices recording -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1740045 Title: microphone To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-volumed/+bug/1740045/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1685502] Re: Network manager icon appears twice on start up, from time to time
This bug has remained over the years. The problem is that both the "Notification area" and "Indicator plugin" panel items contain their own copy of the Network icon. Only the latter shows a mouse hover effect for it, so I assume it's the correct/preferable place to contain it. A quick-fix is to remove both panel items, re-adding the Notification area first. As the Indicator plugin gets added, some check appears to happen which then removes the duplicate Network icon from the Notification area. Unfortunately this fix doesn't last forever, and the logic is clearly fragile (it should be triggered under more conditions, e.g. on each startup. I saw another suggestion about "clearing saved sessions" but I don't use sessions and it had no effect for me. ** Tags added: artful -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1685502 Title: Network manager icon appears twice on start up, from time to time To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-panel/+bug/1685502/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1740033] [NEW] [Realtek ALC1220, Green Line Out, Rear] Background noise or low volume on left speaker only
Public bug reported: I've upgraded my computer to a new one with a Realtek ALC1220 from an ASUS crosshair VI hero and on my ubuntu 17.10 my 5.1 surround left audio is busted, I've configured the system audio to 5.1 and tested all speakers one by one and the only one that isn't working correctly is the left speaker, it emits the testing sound but is disturbed and very low, I've checked alsaconf and everything is alright there.
