[Bug 1875289] [NEW] Firefox Screen Tearing
Public bug reported: Screen tearing on Firefox when watching a video or scrolling down a webpage with a lot of text. Steps to reproduce video screen tearing 1. Open Firefox browser on and go to Youtube 2. Select a video but I recommend a screen tearing video test 3. View the whole video and screen tearing occurs. Steps to reproduce scroll tearing 1. Open a webpage on Firefox that has a lot of text like a Wiki 2. I have the same issue on a ZenBook UX433FLC. The internal speakers work at least some of the time, but whenever I plug in headphones I just hear a loud irregular clicking sound. [Bug 1873746] Re: kmail in Kubuntu 20.04 beta cannot connect to dovecot IMAP server
Hi there, I have a strong suspicion that this is SSL related. I've found that this does not work: openssl s_client -connect example.com:993 [...] 139765775537472:error:141A318A:SSL routines:tls_process_ske_dhe:dh key too small:../ssl/statem/statem_clnt.c:2149: [...] but this does (found here: https://imlc.me/dh-key-too-small ): openssl s_client -connect example.com:993 --cipher 'DEFAULT:!DH' Now the received wisdom is that this is because of OpenSSL configuration and you can fix it by adding this to /etc/ssl/openssl.cnf: [system_default_sect] MinProtocol = TLSv1.2 CipherString = DEFAULT@SECLEVEL=2 However, that does not seem to work, either for the OpenSSL command line or for Akonadi. [Bug 1875285] [NEW] Ubuntu 20.04 Fractional scalling “cuting” elements
Public bug reported: I'm using Ubuntu 20.04 with a NVIDIA MX250. Firstly, nvidia-prime was not working. Even when selecting nvidia only, it was using Intel HD Graphics. [IMAGE1] I've forced the use of NVIDIA as the primary GPU by creating /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-nvidia-drm-outputclass.conf with: Option "PrimaryGPU" "yes" (seen here https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA_Optimus). [IMAGE2] This works, now nvidia-settings show all options (before was showing only prime options, and nothing more - even when selecting NVIDIA Only). But now, fractional scalling crops half of the screen. The funny thing is that when I try to printscreen, on the picture it looks fine, but in reality is not. I had to make a photo with my cellphone. [Bug 1834085] Re: Bluetooth touchpad (Apple Magic Trackpad) disconnects every few minutes
Disabling upower isn't enough -- it will start up again when an app (such as your browser) requires power management support. You have to uinstall upower from your system. Just tried upgrading my Xubuntu 19.10 desktop to 20.04 and I'm now getting the same staircase effect. [Bug 1872159] Re: booting with splash hangs when external monitors are connected (pure intel 8th gen laptop)
Steps to reproduce This result was consistent after five different installs. Outcome I'm having the same issue, after install I shut down remove the usb it will boot the first time to login screen no problem, after a second shut down or restart it hangs at the spinning arrow. Expected Outcome Smooth start up with boot splash to login screen. Workaround Tap the F8 key before boot splash appears, continue to tap F8 when scrolling text appears, it then continues to login screen. Temporary Fix Remove "quiet splash" from /etc/default/grub - GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" Result Scrolling text on startup, however a very quick boot to login screen, no hanging.
