[Bug 1809201] Re: lubuntu 19.04/19.10 two displays, programs maximized uses only part of 2nd display

[Bug 1912844] Re: Bond with OVS bridging RuntimeError: duplicate mac found!
Hello Dan, > It looks to me like these two statements are in opposition: if OVS is > managing an interface via a different datapath, then it won't have > ID_NET_DRIVER=openvswitch in its `udevadm info`. > > If this is the case, then I think we have a couple of options. That is correct, I remembered the other datapath types after suggesting the driver approach. > Firstly, we could scope this down to only handle system datapath interfaces, so that it _is_ true that all the interfaces we're handling are owned by the openvswitch. I don't know enough about how OVS is used (either by us or more generally) to know if this is a reasonable suggestion, so your guidance would be appreciated. For the specific use case we're testing with right now it would be safe to assume the system datapath, however our product does also support the use of DPDK acceleration which is hinged on the netdev datapath. So I'm afraid leaving that out of scope might come back and bite us before we know it. But I guess it would be reasonable to split the work up in bite sized chunks as long as we allow for supporting this in the design. > If we can't do that, then I think we need to ask OVS directly, presumably via `ovs-vsctl show` as discussed above. This would require it to be in PATH, of course; avoiding that is a nice-to-have at best, so I think that's fine. Yes, we would be able to find the interface in the runtime state through `ovs-vsctl` and friends. The `show` sub-command is mostly meant for human readable overview of configuration, so we will probably dive to the depths of the interface and port tables. Many of the sub-commands support JSON output format, for example: `ovs-vsctl -f json find interface name=testport` `ovs-vsctl -f json find port name=testport` -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1912844 Title: Bond with OVS bridging RuntimeError: duplicate mac found! [Bug 1916823] [NEW] Touchpad / keyboard don't work (randomly) after reboot on HP systems
Public bug reported: [Impact] On some HP laptops (e.g. HP ZBook Fury 15/17 G7, HP EliteBook 850 G7, HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15-cp0xxx), the touchpad / keyboard will probably be disabled after reboot because the hp-wmi reports the system is a tablet system but it's not a tablet system. After libinput received "SW_TABLET_MODE", then it will disable the keyboard and touchpad. [Test case] Test 200 times reboot with: 1. 5.10.0-1013-oem kernel: - the SW_TABLET_MODE was detected at 72 round and the keyboard / touchpad not work. 2. 5.10.0-1013-oem kernel + 67fbe02a5cebc3c653610f12e3c0424e58450153: - the SW_TABLET_MODE is not be detected within 200 times reboot. [Fix] Cherry-pick commit 67fbe02a5cebc3c653610f12e3c0424e58450153. It turns the tablet mode detection to off as default and could be enabled by module parameter "enable_tablet_mode_sw". [Regression potential] It will break tablet detection on all HP laptops but user can enable it back by adding module parameter. If without this patch then a lot of HP new laptops (with newer HP BIOS) will get the keyboard/touchpad not work after reboot. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: [Impact] On some HP laptops (e.g. This is strange, indeed. The MP for the merge is: https://code.launchpad.net/~sergiodj/ubuntu/+source/python-rtslib- fb/+git/python-rtslib-fb/+merge/397174 As you can read there, I did check if the package installed/uninstalled correctly. Bryce also double-checked it. I don't know if the problem is that we forgot to check if the systemd service file was up or not, or something else. But then again, the error you posted happens right at the installation step, so we would have caught that. I'm puzzled, and I apologize for not having seen this before. [Bug 1911036] Re: GDK/GTK app crash when performing drag operation
Hi Daniel, I never removed GDK_SYNCHRONIZE from /etc/environment. It's been set that way for a few reboots. In addition, I confirmed it was set to 1 before running gdb. I'm wondering if you're not getting as much as you'd expect from the backtrace because I had to kill the thunar process. When thunar crashed within gdb, the mouse was stuck unfocused, meaning I couldn't focus on any window to type. I was only able to recover focus by killing the thunar process (not gdb) via a remote shell from another computer, after which I was able to run bt. Do you know of a way to automatically run bt in gdb if the process crashes? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1911036 Title: GDK/GTK app crash when performing drag operation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk+3.0/+bug/1911036/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1916313] Re: memory allocate issue of windows vm
Hi Christian, I have tested this problem recently and found that the windows VM memory usage in the new compute node will turn to actual value if I execute `VM live migrate` between two compute node which is created by openstack or virshinstall. I guess it is a problem with qemu memory allocate. Could you please boot a windows VM and migrate it to test is issue? In addition, If I boot a windows VM with 16G memory and migrate it, the actual memory usage is decrease to 1.3G in new compute node, it sounds like a good news, but the actual memory usage will up to 8G in compute node if I execute `virsh qemu-monitor-command instance-000112f4 --hmp "balloon 8192"` instead of the actual usage, I'm really confused about it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1916313 Title: memory allocate issue of windows vm To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu/+bug/1916313/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thanks for the bug report. Since app windows' resources are all stored in the Xorg process I think this is most likely the result of an X11 resource leak in some application.
