Oops, I really mean standard one, sorry. Anyway, here is a one-liner that will fix your gnome menu so you can edit those wine (and possibly other) broken .desktop files. It collapses all the sub-directories, renaming them with the same flat scheme alacarte would use and removing the originals.

Still happening. There seems to be a pattern related to USB activity: doing a large transfer to USB disk can cause the error. My onboard, HDA, sound card shares an interrupt with the USB controller. So I suspect that heavy USB activity can cause some kind of under- or overrun, or other error

The way this is implemented in human theme is really confusing. The same class is used for Button and MenuItem widgets. This doesn't work because MenuItems are rendered without a background. It is possible to style them with different classes, then you can do whatever you want. I attach a patch

Things I have found out: Independent HP means independent headphones. When the main output is getting muted, the headphone output is grey in alsamixer. I assume this means that the card did not detect headphones connected to the socket. Before the bug happens, the headphone output is not grey. I

My observations (using firefox 3.6.13 and nvidia 260.19.06) - The problem only happens on launchpad.net. None of the other examples given on this bug still exhibit the problem. Likely they were all caused by the old slow javascript engine that was replaced in a version of FF since 3.0. But the
