Same here. I enabled the Proposed repository and was expecting for a
linux-image-* package to appear in the updates after a refresh, but so far it
hasn't. Retried just seconds ago.
I'm using the patch meanwhile, and the good news is that the bug hasn't
appeared again.

I'm using WPA2 too.
Even after disabling klogd, I get sporadic kernel panics (freeze and
blinking keyboard leds) almost daily.

It might be unimportant, but the
I've checked my settings and I'm using only WPA, not WPA2. The pre-
shared key doesn't have special characters and isn't excessively long.

kernel 2.6.27-7-generic bug BUG: scheduling while atomic: swapper/0/0x0100
I've been running the patched driver for 48 hours: The dd/klog cpu hogging
hasn't appeared, the consoles remain unspammed by error messages, and no kernel
panic.
This bug usually appeared a few hours after booting, and turning off klogd only
gave me a few hours more before a kernel panic. It
Just to add another laptop model to the list: A Sony Vaio GN-FZ250FE.
This laptop came with Window Vista, which runs the CPU significantly
cooler than Ubuntu, the latter needing to use the cooling fan all the
time because its temperature rarely drops from 55 Celsius. The NVidia

This bug has indeed been solved in 2.6.27-10-generic, how long for it to reach
the Updates repository? This chipset and card are very common for the bug to
remain in the default installation 8.10 almost two months already.
Sometimes the Live CD triggers this bug before the installation is
Same here. I'm using a clean install of Ubuntu 9.04 on a Sony VAIO FZ250FE with

I tried compiling the latest version or ROTT for Linux from the icculus.org

Timidity is a suggested dependence of RotT, maybe it should be mandatory as
without it it doesn't work.

ROTT freezes after a short while
For me, the bug is gone since the upgrade to Ubuntu 16.04. Just took 3
years to solve.
Now that it's official the sunsetting of Unity and Mir, I hope similar
bugs won't take that long to be solved.
