I've tested your lp1583357 kernel with KVP and the results are looking good.
For the original 16.04 kernel and the rebase one to 4.6 the only issue open
we're tracking is with kdump, but we have another ticket in which that is
handled.
Otherwise the results for the 4.6 rebase

Related to ID #1583357 in regards to the LIS improvements rebase to the 4.6
kernel, we would also like to include the below patches.
These are to fix the kdump feature when running on a Hyper-V VM, as the crash
scenarios might not always work for 16.04.
It would be commit 4dbfc2e68004c60edab7e8fd26784383dd3ee9bc that
resolves an issue with KVP.
We have other commits that are to resolve some issues with kdump on
Hyper-V VM, but we'll send those separately.

kdump crash feature on 32bit Xenial GA (kernel 4.4.0-21) does work most of the
times.
The issue here can be related to the CPU handling the crash, for which there is
a set of patches.
These would also cover the kdump triggered through NMI scenario.

Initially we were using 15.04, which is now EOL.
Testing has been switched to 15.10, which running with upstream does no longer
have the 1GB crashkernel requirement.
It works with the default 384M ( -:128M).
We can consider this bug as closed therefore.

device-mapper are due to a device that is not a multipath target, in which case
it should be blacklisted in the multipath config file.

We've built grub2 from sources and used the compiled grubx64.efi in MAAS
1.9 to attempt to boot a Gen2 VM.
However, the boot process failed to load the kernel and perform a PXE boot,

I have a 15.04 install running linux-next 4.5.0-rc5 from Febr 26th, on
which I can confirm Sidney's update, that udev/systemd is no longer
slowing this down to a halt.
As the default 3.19 kernel on 15.04 is not having this behavior, I've installed
kernel 4.2.8 from the ubuntu ppa

To summarize all previous activity on this bug for easier tracking, I've
re-done now a check on this bug and here are the details:
Hyper-V: Server 2012 R2
VM: Ubuntu 15.04
Kernel: 3.19.0-15
Default crashkernel value: 384M-:128M
Also verified with crashkernel=384M@384M
Status: kdump-tools is
Using a recent linux-next on top of 15.04, the default config generates
a large memory footprint initrd - over 500MB.
Therefore, if we set the crashkernel to 1GB, we'll get a crashdump and the
proper behavior.
So this doesn't relate to 1400319, and it seems to be resolved in linux-next in
Joe, can we please get a test kernel for Trusty (3.13 kernel) built?
I might have a lead that without these NUMA patches, we might be seeing the
performance regression issues from 1519897 (comment #33) . Still have to
confirm this from our end, but it's worth a try.

Problem statement:
Wily (and probably other previous releases with the updated kernels) return a
multipath error for vFC (virtual Fibre Channel).
Symptoms:
The following messages are in the dmesg log during booting:
device-mapper: table: 252:4: multipath: error getting
Attaching the syslog and dmesg logs.

Hi Joe,
We've tested the Wily test kernel provided and it's looking good, please merge
the changes.
As for the previous releases - Trusty, Vivid - please include those as
well if possible, as this patch is not conflicting with the other LIS
diff patches list of inclusion.

a validation check on it
Joseph, this doesn't look to be included in the Oct 19th build of Wily.
I will ask KY on the dependency patch as mentioned for Trusty, but let's focus
on Wily for the release date.

It seems that during the Wily development, some changes have occurred that
broke the hv_set_ifconfig script.
Please see the below details and update the script accordingly.
