[Bug 1690550] Re: lyricue 4.0.12 missing current slide highlight

2017-09-11 Thread ChrisDebenham
Ahh - I found the problem.
I was clearing status updates for things from the last 120 seconds instead of
ones older than that :P
Should be fixed in next release

[Bug 726304] [NEW] libc6 2.13 causes segfaults/illegal instructions on tegra/armel

2011-02-27 Thread ChrisDebenham
Public bug reported:

I have been working on getting natty working on a nvidia tegra2 based tablet
(Advent Vega)
Maverick works fine, but after upgrade to natty many things fail with segfaults
or Illegal instruction messages.
It fails more reliably with gtk and qt applications but many other apps fail
(such as aptitude)
Core X applications (such as xterm) tend to work though.
When seen the following two lines turn up in messages log:

Alignment trap%3A not handling instruction e8524f00 at [407b4dfa]
Unhandles fault: alignment exception (0x011) at 0x42f824a5

This has been tested with 2.13-0ubuntu2 and 2.13-0ubuntu3 with no change
If I revert to libc6 2.12.1-0ubuntu10.2 packages then everything works again
(showing the problem is in libc rather than libgtk or libqt)

** Affects: eglibc (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 396590] Re: GNOME Panel disappears when compositing manager is turned on and eclipse is started

2010-04-22 Thread ChrisDebenham
This problem also appears in Lucid when using the 'maximus' tool to remove
title bars from maximized windows.
The gnome-panel disappears as does gkrellm.
On occasion it also looks to be causing normal maximized windows to not be
exposed when switching desktops.
For some reason I can reshow the windows/panel/gkrellm but pressing Ctrl+space
twice

[Bug 445266] Re: libclutter-perl programs using gtk widgets fail to start

2010-04-22 Thread ChrisDebenham
The core of the problem is that the clutter perl bindings separated out the
clutter::gtk2 and clutter::gstreamer stuff.
I have built test packages of the missing bindings in my PPA
(https://launchpad.net/~chris-debenham/+archive/lyricue) and confirmed that
they fix the issue.
To resolve this bug we need to add proper packages for libgtk2-clutter-perl
and libclutter-gstreamer-perl

2008-01-30 Thread ChrisDebenham
I have tried the acpi_osi option and it works great.
cpu scaling is working fine at the moment.
So that is a workaround, but I wouldn't consider it a proper fix as it requires
manual editing of the grub menu.lst for anyone who hits this issue.
Is there some way of making this automated so others don't have the same
problem?

My apologies for not including that data.
It has been attached now.
BTW. This looks to be reported in the RedHat bugzilla as bug 403651

2007-12-17 Thread ChrisDebenham
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: hal-info

After updating from hal-info_20071030-1ubuntu1 to hal-info_20071212-1ubuntu1
the hal daemon fails to start
If hald is run with --daemon=no --verbose=yes the following message is output:
*** [DIE] device_info.c:rules_match_and_merge_device():1089 : Rule is NULL on
jump

Reverting to hal-info_20071030-1ubuntu1 resolves the issue

[Bug 177076] acpi-cpufreq doesn't allow 800Mhz on Fujistu T4220

2007-12-17 Thread ChrisDebenham
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.24

If the machine (Fujitsu T4220) is booted without any cpufreq modules it runs at
2Ghz.
Soon after I run 'modprobe acpi-cpufreq' the speed drops to 800Mhz
When I load the acpi-cpufreq module at first it reports 2001000 for
cpuinfo_cur_freq but drops through each of the available frequencies at a rate
of about 1 step per second.
After this no matter what I do I can't increase this (regardless of cpufreq
governor used)
According to /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufreq/cpuinfo_max_freq the max
speed is 2001000 but scaling_max_freq is set to 80 and can not be changed.
I have tried echo 2001000 scaling_max_freq but no change is made.

Below is data I hope is useful

[Bug 176778] Re: [Hardy] flashplugin-nonfree needs libpcre.so.3 which doesn't exist on amd64?

2007-12-16 Thread ChrisDebenham
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 176653 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/176653

Re-installing ia32-libs_2.1ubuntu3_amd64.deb will work around this issue as it
removes the dependancy on /usr/lib32/libpcre.so.3
This is because ia32-libs_2.2 made libpcre.so.3 a dependancy for various
gtk/glib related libraries

[Bug 121481] PenguinTV crashes on load

2007-06-20 Thread ChrisDebenham
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: penguintv

After updating to penguintv 3.0-0ubuntu1 it now crashes when loading every time.
The console shows:

$ PenguinTV
***MEMORY-WARNING***: PenguinTV[28734]: GSlice: g_thread_init() must be called
before all other GLib functions; memory corruption due to late invocation of
g_thread_init() has been detected; this program is likely to crash, leak or
unexpectedly abort soon...
gecko proxy settings up to date
initializing mozilla in /usr/lib/firefox
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
$

When loaded the gui flashes up but quickly disappears before even fully
displaying.
This still occurs even if I remove the ~/.penguintv directory.
I tried running with G_SLICE=always-malloc but it made no difference.

[Bug 121481] Re: PenguinTV crashes on load

2007-06-20 Thread ChrisDebenham
Backtrace of the corefile created read as:

So it looks like the crash is in the mozilla embedding
