Running the alternate-amd64 installer. If a name is added to the
partition and then removed (I saw name and thought label, later finding
the label and swapping the fields) it causes the installer to lock. A
soft reboot was required to get out of the installer after nearly

I recently applied available updates via the Mac OSX partiton on my
machine and my battery life in Ubuntu is nearly half-hour longer. I
have not directly compared battery times but in Ubuntu my battery lasts
nearly three hours pretty consistently.

Ever since upgrading to v6.10 I am not able to actually reboot my
machine. I get the same result whether using 'reboot' at the command
line or using the reboot menu option.
The system goes through the normal motions, closes all applications and
the closing splash screen

If I keep my USB mouse plugged into my eMachines M5312 at boot-time the
audio goes into a repetitive playback and gnome / nautilus do not
completely load. If the USB mouse is connected after gnome completes
loading everything works fine. It seems having the mouse connected
