[Bug 1575078] Re: [XPS 15 9550, Realtek ALC3266] Headphone jack stops working after a while
On Ubuntu 20.04 the problem is still happening pretty similar to the one reported by the OP. I've found a new way to fix it though. Steps to reproduce: 1. turn off machine. 2. leave a headphone plugged in 3. turn on machine (caveat: if your laptop is suspended from here the bug won't be produced) 4. unplug headphone 5. plug headphone -> YOU WON'T HEAR A THING To fix it I do: I open Settings -> Sound and there: 1. change the Input Device to internal microphone (not the headphone) (you should start hearing after this step!!!) 2. Change the Input Device to the headphone (this fix is faster than suspending and bringing it back up). [Bug 1709781] Re: Screenshots do not work in Wayland session
@seb128 I've made several tests here: Full screen: Calling "gnome-screenshot -c" doesn't put anything on the clipboard, it reports "There is no image data in the clipboard to paste". When calling via UI, a full screen and sending to clipboard, pasting into GIMP, it just pastes the top part of the screen (kind of out-of-buffer-memory problem maybe?) Part of screen: When selecting a small sector of the screen with "shift + printscreen" button, it's not sent to the clipboard. When using the gnome-screenshot UI, a sector of screen can be sent to the clipboard. With "gnome-screenshot -a -c", from GIMP it reports "There is no image data in the clipboard to paste". [Bug 1673796] Re: Ubuntu 16.10, Dell XPS 15 9550, DNS problem after suspend/resume

Regarding @shinyblue , on my configuration (lightdm/unity), sounds seems to work in all cases (new kernel 4.4.0-28-generic). Only caveat I want to mention is that System Settings->Sound->Output shows two options with headphone connected, and selecting "Speakers. Built-in Audio" just mutes and produces no sound. I've found the kernel code that is not processing this key-event. https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/drivers/platform/x86/dell- wmi.c#L218 Is there any way that the event is NOT ignored by that code in the case of the Dell XPS 15 9550? Scratch my last comment. I'll add some screenshots with the issue (hovering the mouse on top of unrendered text shows it temporarily). After that I'll try to bump my kernel, but will need some days of testing to reproduce problem ** Attachment added: "error on rendering" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1580798/+attachment/4661414/+files/Captura%20de%20pantalla%20de%202016-05-12%2014-56-54.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1580798 Title: Suspend breaks on gnome session not on unity session - dell xps 14z To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1580798/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
