The last statement is not copletley true. The patch works as long as I do not
change the shortcut when changing the Disable shortcut setting.

This happens with a stock version of kdmrc file.
I did apt-get remove --purge kdm and then apt-get install kdm.
I am on feisty (7.04) currently, proposed-updates are enabled (if that matters).
I have experienced this bug both with radeon and ati drivers in xorg.conf. Now
I am using [K]ubuntu
And one more thing, Running local scripts (/etc/rc.local) OK, appears on vt1.
Vt8 is blank both before and after the second kdm login screen (black screen
with a text cursor, nothing more).

When on vt1, try /etc/init.d/kdm stop. This will switch away from vt1 and

virtual hardisk and later booted from it in a separate virtual machine.
