Update-manager seems to ignore the automatic proxy configuration script
(which should tell it to ignore the proxy for local addresses) and falls
back upon the manual

installed and activated, restricted drivers manager is aware of it. When
it is not installed, it does not detect that I have a Nvidia card that
can use binary drivers.

From before I remember that it only shows up if I have selected nvidia
in xorg.conf - when using the open source nv driver it does not show up

This happens for me when behind a firewall, with a .pac autoconf file

I had tried authorizing a machine using the bundled stable client, beta
and nightly packages. In each case, the applet would not launch and a
manual u1sync --authorize would hang endlessly. From time to time, the
log would show:

I experience this problem in a fresh install of Jaunty on machine with
an Intel video chipset. The unredirect workaround solves the problem for
me.

The affix file for the South African English Myspell dictionary contains
problems that breaks myspell spell-checking in en_ZA. The problem is
easily solved by replacing the /usr/share/myspell/dicts/en_ZA.aff file
with the en_GB.aff file.
