As a reply to message #3: I took the liberty to reopen this bug because
I do not agree that opening the context menu by a press and click is a
specific feature that is only interesting me. In fact:
- With touchscreen becoming constantly more widespread, opening the
context menu with a press
I'm sorry, Francesco, but the design spec has been set by the design
team for a long time, now. Presently, a long click is the recommended
way of shifting application icons around the launcher.
There does not have to be necessarily a clash with the gesture to move the
icons in the launcher.
GNOME has switched from gconf to gsettings. It might be well possible
that the corresponding key is now handled by gsettings. You can have a
look at the gsettings keys by using the dconf-editor.

Quite some time ago, the Ubuntu developers patched Onboard for security
reasons to not open the preferences dialog under the display manager. As
we integrated that patch into the following releases of Onboard, the
wrench does not work by design under the display manager.
