I saw this tapping issue after a recent update on an IBM ThinkPad T41 running Dapper. Any fix yet? MaxTapTime was already set previously, and somehow, things broke after we updated. I can say that it did work in kernel revision 2.6.15-25-386, but broke when we upgraded an booted 2.6.15-26-386.
