I saw this tapping issue after a recent update on an IBM ThinkPad T41
running Dapper. Any fix yet? MaxTapTime was already set previously,
and somehow, things broke after we updated. I can say that it did work
in kernel revision 2.6.15-25-386, but broke when we upgraded an booted
2.6.15-26-386.
THIS IS NOT AN AMD64 SPECIFIC ISSUE! YOU CANNOT DISABLE THE TOUCHPAD EVEN ON
AN IBM THINKPAD (PENTIUM 32-BIT) RUNNING AN i386 KERNEL!!!

I have found the python implementation to be somewhat slow and less than
ideal. Does anyone else agree?

I booted an amd64 CD for Feisty and tried to set my /home partition to
be on /dev/md0. Here's what happened:
$ sudo -i
# aptitude install mdadm

# mkfs.reiser /dev/md0
Now run installer. You
dmraid is for FakeRAID. mdadm is for Linux-only software RAID and is a
completely different concept. So, it still appears that my initial bug
report is legitimate.

Oh, forgot to mention that blacklisting the ndiswrapper module still
resulted in bootup deadlocking. But, manually deleting
'/lib/modules/2.6.22-10-generic/ubuntu/misc/ndiswrapper/ndiswrapper.ko'
allowed the system to boot properly...
