I'm in the process of fixing this on my computer. Someone forgot to include the
firmware package avm-fritz-firmware-kernel.deb on the live CD.
It's usually located at /pool/restricted/l/linux-restricted-modules...
Luckily there's Windows, I'm using it right now to hunt down the missing
package
Same problem here with the Fritz Card DSL SL, but this omission concerns
all Fritz Cards. It's easy and convenient to set up in Hardy, so let's
work on that regression in Intrepid and make it just as easy.

release of Hardy with all updates. My computer is always connected to the
internet using a AVM Fritz PCI card and pon/poff for ppp.

It apparently just got fixed via the network manager...
I just got a monster update going, of about 200MB, and although the updated
kernel just won't boot, the network manager got out of my way when using the
older kernel. It's either a new network manager, now 0.6.6 or a new capiutils

Just an update, I still have that very error almost three weeks after
the initial post. I barely can remember when I was able to logout of
GNOME normally for the last time. I mean, without having to restart X
with Ctrl+Alt+Delete first.
Am I alone with that bug, or what?

Ok, I have news concerning this thing. Today, for the first time, I had a
minute to spare after clicking on System-Quit in GNOME.
Turns out, after 50s the dialog actually ends up appearing, but the Suspend
I confirm, I get one of those too and the checksum of my iso is correct.
I have Edgy booting just fine from the CD so Feisty should do that too,
the only difference I can think of is that Feisty is burnt on a CD-RW.
