Sure, and put more frequent updates in the repos. The bug title
includes Dapper/Edgy/Feisty.
From a Dapper x86-32 machine we checked bluez status. Bluez sits at
2.24 versus the current 3.9 source. That's quite a lag.

Driver version 295 has appeared in the repository and I installed that.
With driver 295 my laptop backlight does turn off when the screen is

So this issue looks to have been fixed in the latest Nvidia driver.

A kernel update came through the Ubuntu Update Manager today which has
fixed the problem. I am now running, according to 'uname -a'
$ uname -a

2.6.38-10.46 came through the Update Manager today and I can confirm it
fixes the problem. On one speedtest.net run I got 45Mbps download speed
though the average is around 32Mbps. Plus I can ping my router without
losing packets.
So I offer big thank you to the people who fixed these bugs. But
I expect it has fixed decker's problem. I have my router set in mixed
WPA/WPA2 mode and I have not disabled h/w encryption via the commands
decker suggested.
