gets overridden in any case by a -O3 that comes

Running in debug mode reveals that CPU-hogging occurs when scanning my
Thunderbird mails. It also does this quite often so I have to kill
beagled (with KILL because in that state it also does not react to
TERM)...

Starting firefox via clicking on a link in thunderbird prevents firefox
from using saved passwords as well.
In short, when starting firefox via thunderbird it's somehow severly
crippled and barely usable...

These are all valid points. What I care about is what the final release will
look like. I think after all the effort that's being put into the artwork to
provide a consistent-looking release, it would really ruin the whole thing if
edgy were to ship with those ugly icons. I mean the OK-icon

I think the problem is that NM just completely ignores interfaces that
are configured by network-admin (or directly via
/etc/networks/interfaces).

I can reproduce this bug. The keys for Hibernation (Fn+12) and Suspend-
to-RAM (Fn+F4) don't work. This is an IBM Thinkpad R40 2722-CDG.
The produce IBM-specific events, which are caught by
/etc/acpi/events/ibm-hibernatebtn and /etc/acpi/events/ibm-sleepbtn.

An additional note:
When I have mounted the disk by double clicking on CDROM1 in Places-Computer
and then right-click on the disk icon on the desktop I have no option to eject
the disk only to unmount.
Clicking that unmounts the disk but the tray stays closed.

quits and I have a blank text mode screen with the cursor blinking in

The bug is really in libblkid. The functionality of extracting a uuid
from an ntfs partition is just not implemented.
hal somehow can extract a uuid, so it should be possible to fix it
easily.

On my edgy system that was upgraded from dapper the DRI modules are not
installed.
The xorg package depends on libgl1-mesa-dri but libgl1-mesa-glx provides
that already so the real libgl1-mesa-dri doesn't get installed.

I can confirm this. I have a Philips Webcam which worked perfectly on
dapper and now produces only gray images. This can is also using the pwc
driver.
Also if I switch to v4l2 in the ekiga options it can't even open the
device. v4l2 in ekiga also worked in dapper.

The gist of it is: pwc driver v9 was working but had some patent issues.
v10 in-kernel (since 2.6.12) is non-working (probably because they
removed the problematic parts). v10 from

OK. I checked out the driver version 10.0.12-rc1 from
http://www.saillard.org/linux/pwc/ and that one works. The colors are a
bit pale but I think it's tolerable. So using that would also be an

When the webcam is plugged in on boot it always becomes device 0 and the

If you set the mark Do this autmatically for files like this from now
on. firefox actually says right there that Settings can be changed in
the Downloas section of Edit, Preferences. Only that you can't. The
dialog that opens there is always

Ah, I forgot to say: this is a Radeon Mobility 7500 card.
DRI works but has problems that may or may not be related to this bug: see bug

These problems seem also to affect Intel cards. Joel, are you also getting

Joel, I saw in your Xor.0.log that you are also getting this:

Addition: The problem does only occur when starting firefox by clicking
on a link (any link, http or https makes no difference) in thunderbird.

The current state in edgy seems to be that the official firefox logo is
used in the Applications menu but the unofficial only the globe icon
is still used everywhere else (i.e. in the taskbar, in the about dialog,
etc.).
Since the Mozilla guys seem to take this branding issue seriously,
perhaps
I really can't believe this is still unfixed. Do you really want to
release edgy with that ugly cancel icon that can be seen all over the
place and will certainly put off many users?
