When Installing: cudadriver_2.3_linux_64_190.18.run downloaded from the
Nvidia website, it seems to install properly (once the correct header
files are installed). I was able to get CUDA

Forgot to say that I had to install Edgy from Dapper to get a higher
resolution from 1024x768.
If I tried to install direct from a new Edgy CD, my max resolution would
be 1024x764.
I think I need something more like 1400x?

Same here - I never had this problem under 11.04. After upgrading to
11.10 I get There was a problem opening the address book Ubuntu One -
the message returned was: Cannot open book: Cannot process, book backend
is opening right after starting Thunderbird 7.0.1.

The same happened to me just minutes ago.
When I left the office, u1 synced to the server. Now I started my notebook and
apparently all the new latex files from a days work on the u1 server have been
overwritten with the two days old files from the notebook. No .conflict ending

I fixed this bug with Keyboard layout: France Alternative
- In System = Preferences = Keyboard
- In Layout tab
- Click Layout Options
- Expand the latest option: Using space keyto input non-breakable space
character
- Select Usual space at any level
No need to restart X nor Rythmbox: it works
I have just updated to Evolution 2.30 hoping to solve the problem but it didn't.
I think it is important to solve this because many people turn to thunderbird
due to time taken to load images.

I was only able to try the version I indicated above. I have not had
the chance to try it on any other version of Ubuntu. the box that I was
testing with has now gone into a production environment, and can't
access it anymore.

Hi even though ubuntu-one is in the startup applications it won't connect to
the u1 server. Never.
At every startup I need to initiate the connection myself. Here's what I enter:

Same problem here with a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04. Compiz and Xord
use a lot of CPU !
I've never been under 10% at idle without anything opened. (1-2% with
11.04)
I was running with 11.04 before and everything was perfect. I was
playing a 720p video with VLC and my CPU was at about 30% max.
I had the same problem. I resolved it with
sudo dpkg --remove libatk*
sudo apt-get -f install

I have the same problem (I think) on gnome-settings-daemon. It's keeps aborting
and restarting, my system is unusable.
When I start it manually, I get this at the end:

With Gnome classic I got 2%, and that's way better when playing a video or
moving a window.
Please fix this asap, I think that unity in 12.04 is better than previous
versions, but this problem is ruining the user experience.
I sometimes regret my old 11.04

I'm sorry for the delay, I haven't had any notification saying that you
replied.
So, good news, it seems to work fine using version
0.4-0~124~30~23~ubuntu14.04.1.
No error when launching in a terminal.
I happy to say that is looks like fixed for me.

I am running lubuntu 14.10 on a dual boot windows 8.1. Everything was
fine but recently when browsing the system often crashes with the output
like in the attached picture. You should have info added automatically
as well.
