prompt you for your root password.
This happened to me ever since I've been running the alpha of 8.10.
I thought it might be due to some faulty upgrading.
So I did a clean install of the 8.10 RC yesterday, but

Confirmed. I'm unable to set up a static IP address in network-configuration.
Also, when I set up a subnet mask, I enter it correctly, but the tool
automatically changes it ti 24
I don't know if that's right or not, but if it confuses me, it'll confuse a lot
more people.

Are these configurations hard-coded or what?
I want Totem to use AC3 pass through, but that setting won't stick. When
