Scrap that! :) A quick lshw revealed that the Realtek NIC was UNCLAIMED. I hadn't un-blacklisted r8169... Followed through by doing that, modprobe r8169, depmod and mkinitramfs. After the boot everything works on 2.6.27 r8169.ko, thankyouverymuch! Marking as fix released. Thanks for making the

Hello again. I now have it working, having compiled the r8168 driver (v8.008) from source: http://122.146.118.42/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1PNid=13PFid=5Level=5Conn=4DownTypeID=3GetDown=false I also had to blacklist r8169 and do depmod mkinitramfs to include the new driver. I did so
