I attempted to load both amd64 and i386 Herd2 desktop Live CD. Neither
would load on my AMD64 (ABIT AX8 mobo) system. I tried a variety of boot
options including noauto nousb nonet noapic nolapic pci=noacpi nomce .
The progress meter on both
Problem has been tracked down to using a Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter.
If this device in connected, the system will not boot. It hangs in the
network stage of the boot. Removing the device and the system boots
fine. The system does not boot with Edgy either.

When I insert the bluetooth USB after boot, the dmesg is:

X64 LiveCD detected my Sundance IC PLUS 1000 network hardware (listed in
lspci) but does not automatically load the ipg module. I had to manually
load (modprobe ipg) to get it to work. Dapper and Edgy detects and loads
automatically. I have an additional Linksys (tulip)

Live CD for Herd 4 works good off the CD, but when attempting to
install to hard drive on a Toshiba Portege S100 S1133 notebook the
partitioner can not find the SATA hard drive, I than attempted to
install using the command line recommendation for using the old
installer

I have looked for any Yamaha support and find nothing. I have a Yamaha
DS-XG PCI sound card which Ubuntu does list in the hardware, but no
sound comes out. I have all the mutes turned off in Alsamixer and I
have permission to use the sound card. I need the sound card
I'm having same behaviour as Martin on karmic with my thinkpad sl300.
Very annoying, especially when watching movies. The disk will spin down
and some seconds of video data will be trashed. g-p-m seems to be set
correctly.

The encrypted message is base64 encoded. The detection scheme for PGP
appears to not de-base64 decode the message before looking at the body
to see if it is an encrypted message.

dg945gclf2 with atom 330 dual-core 1.6Ghz and 1Gb ocz ddr2 667

60Gb Deskstar
Also, forgot to mention, I ran Western Digital's diagnostic tools and
scanned each drive for errors (passed) and also wrote zeros to all
sectors of both drives with dd.
My first experience with raid.

This happened to me on intrepid/jaunty/karmic when I switched to the
ath5k driver. I have this problem right now. I don't think it's
networkmanager's fault. It seems the previous connected network shows
up in the scanning list before real networks do, and then it doesn't go
away. I'm on a
I was using madwifi before, and i didn't have this problem. One
cumbersome workaround is to edit the pm-utils scripts to unload and
reload the ath5k module on resume. I did something similar for madwifi
for a different issue.

I snapped a screen shot of my extensions. I have not changed them since
the crash. I do not have any other themes than the Firefox default 2.0.
I have the English (GB) 2.0 language pack which may be a mistake since I
normally select US English for everything.

I wish I could answer what Flash package I have. I'm a little new and
just can't figure out how to get the information. I downloaded from the
standard Ubuntu link on 1/21 this year. At the moment, that link points
to macromedia 9. I remember I did the tar.gz install and ran the install
script.

Identical problem for me,
The line in xorg.conf after install of nvidia-glx

And it should have been

i386, Ubuntu 6.1, nvidia-glx version:- 10.8776+2.6.17.7-11.2
output from lspci confirms the bus id, so I unsure where 0:5:0 came

The splash screen shows up, but once Live CD finishes, at the point

Just had this error trying to update the gwibber-service package, on an
oneiric beta live-usb (which has persistence and recent updates).
dpkg version is 1.16.0.3 (i386).
Attached is the output from dpkg -i -D131 gwibber-
service_3.2.0-0ubuntu1_all.deb

Dropping the damaged link and retrying the package upgrade fixed that.
And thanks for the upstream work. Now I should check the file-system...
