I should point out my reason for trying 19.04 is due to 4.15.0-65
stopping the touchpad working and having to revert back to 4.15.0-20.
Was hoping 19.04 with the 5.0 kernel might resolve the touchpad issue

I have not been able to reboot my desktop in nearly two months. What is
the fix? Do I have to reflash the BIOS? How do I ensure the desktop is
bootable after I reflash? Thanks.

6 year old HP laptop with A6 processor. Loaded Xubuntu 18.10 then MATE
18.10. I saved a login password but it did not show in the keyring when
I looked. I did not check any other parts of Seahorse since I don't plan
to use encryption. Reloaded MATE 18.04 and it works fine
Seems okay now, after typing exit and following the commands to run the
(fsck.ext4 /dev/mapper... something) command that it had listed and
following the prompt to fix.

Sandi, Answer to your last question first, I am a pensioner, I write
slow, make mistakes, (hence 20.18 should read 18.04), I need a good

I have exactly the same problem, on a clean install of Bionic/18.04
Desktop AMD64, with a locally-attached (USB) 2TB SATA hard drive which
works perfectly AFAIK for all functions other than Deja Dup.

My workload is some trading performance tests that I've created, which
aren't going to help you. If you can tell me how to revert to a
previous intel-micrcode
package I can try and come up with some narrow isolated test cases where
the issue
occurs and send you those.
Thanks,
