I cannot say! This may be an attempt to build a kernel which had failed,
but I thought that my failed kernels had been removed. If this isn't an
official Ubuntu kernel then the error is my own, and the report can

Unfortunately the default settings for Kvpnc doesn't seem to want to
connect to a Linksys RV042 firewall which uses Microsoft's PPTP
technology, at least with my current tests. I have spoken on IRC with a
developer and s/he is looking into it...

I am trying to get Kvpnc set up. To test it VPNs, I successfully
connected to a VPN endpoint (Linksys RV042)using the network-manager-
gnome application, which worked very well.
When I dicsonnected the VPN connection, however, my

hosts. It turns out that it changed my /etc/resolv.conf to a different
nameserver (an IP address on the VPN endpoint side). i had to manually
fix that to point to my local nameserver

I am not sure if it is related or not, but my SATA2 DVD-r drive jumps
around in speed but settles on burning at 4x after about 30-50% od a
DVD, and then stays at that 4x for the remainder of the burning time.
The DVD-R drive itself is *supposed* to burn at 18x...

Yes, i too get the crash when connecting to MSN, on a fresh Gutsy
install. I think this happened on my fresh Feisty install as well,
6months ago... :(

very useful to the devs. ;)
So, why doesn't the KDE Crash Handler take them out, or why aren't the

I could be wrong on this, but I thought the point (or, a part of it at
least) of DMA was to bypass the CPU when moving files; last night I copied
200GB of files and it totally ate the CPU during the processes. ext3 to
ext3, both SATA (from SATA2 to SATA1)...
