I am not using Desktop effects. I disabled compiz. perhaps after
another 24hr i will give
them a try although for me I wasn't using them unless they are enabled
by default.
I did notice a drop in my screen performance but not significantly.

Ubuntu 9.10 'Karmic' – I've already forwarded the bug upstream as well.
@RagnarokAngel I am posting your original alsa-info. report when you had
the original Ubuntu 9.04 kernel and alsa driver and you were having the
issue with your sound, if you can you should post the updated alsa-info
report so that a comparison can be done by those who will review this.

for those that choose to review this the user said this :

the solution to his issue, the model option of lenovo was tried but
failed to resolve it.

Headphone jack mutes
Just had a freeze, i changed from exa to uxa and had several applications open
and was in the process of logging into
my gmail account when it hit.
I have upgraded to Karmic 9.10 and am using the following..
Linux wirechief-laptop 2.6.30-020630rc4-generic #020630rc4 SMP Fri May 1
08:25:59 UTC
switching from exa to uxa yesterday may 12th caused a freeze with
2.7.0 and since the time
i was able to finally visit www.woodtv.com with 2.70 i had not had
any issues so it seems that
uxa with my current configuration is certainly not workable without
freeze. exa works well.
On Tue, May 12,
to get it to come back
and provide whatever reporting i can.
