The solution in #10 did not work on my t400s. I added the xorg input
configuration in both /usr/lib/X11/xorg.conf.d and in
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d without effect.
I created a quick bash script using the solution to #5 and have it run
on login via the startup applications. That works pretty well.

to tty1 and I've successfully resumed without AC at sometimes, unlike

The reported bug refers to Sound Converter installed on Jaunty.

Have done that; same results.
Alternatively, SWFDec consumes much less CPU, yet crashes Firefox frequently
(also on Epiphany and Galeon),and Gnash fails to render flash videos on most
websites.

I downgraded back to Intrepid (Jaunty was not functional for me; too many bugs)
and installed OOo 3.0 from http://ppa.launchpad.net/openoffice-pkgs/ppa/ubuntu
intrepid main. I do not have the OOo launcher there, thus no problems to
report.

Chris, I understood that for other people BOTH the regular terminal AND root
terminal fail (i.e., with or w/o gksu execution).
However, if this is NOT the case, then my bug is indeed identical to 328575.

For me, as a reminder, the same: Regular terminal works fine, only root terminal
when started from ANYWHERE fails.
