[Bug 878797] [NEW] Internal error installing a .deb is not verbose enough
Public bug reported: Downloaded a .deb file from www.google.com/chrome. Double clicked it, and Software Centre opened. An error appears which says Internal Error. The file /path/to/chrome.deb could not be opened. The message is not verbose and doesn't explain what can be done to fix it. [Bug 842492] Re: Installer uses a fixed-height window that is small for 1024x600 netbook
I experienced the same problem on a Samsung NC210 netbook. The screen where you can select a profile photo or take one with the webcam has buttons which are completely off-screen on a 1024z600 resolution monitor. [Bug 645546] [NEW] stereo bluetooth devices not working properly
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pulseaudio Hi, I don't know whether this is a pulseaudio thing, I suspect it's a problem in the bluetooth stack or could be a laptop hardware compatibility issue. I have a couple of bluetooth devices, both stereo headphones: Nokia BH503 and Nokia BH905, both work properly when paired to phones and other computers. In Ubuntu 10.10, I can pair these devices OK. But when I try to manage them in the gnome panel applet in 'open sound preferences', I can only select them as mono, and when I use rythmbox to listen to audio, it sounds crackly, tinny and very low quality. Not sure what diags I should provide but can give logs on request. [Bug 595265] Re: Can not add Facebook account as add button not displayed after authorisation.
Version 2.31.90 here, bug still exists. The dialog box has dimensions larger than my screen resolution and there is no scroll bar and no visible add button. I notice I can tab to things on the dialog that are invisible. But pressing the space bar on the hidden elements doesn't do anything. It would be nice if this was fixed in time for the 10.10 release. Maverick is going to be reviewed by the tech press as usual and this is a pretty basic feature broken ... setting up the social accounts is one of the first activities on a new install so it leaves a bad first impression. Just my 2 cents, sorry for adding more clutter to this bug report. -- Can not add Facebook account as add button not displayed after authorisation. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/595265 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 538501] Re: [Lucid] Xorg crashes when you plug in a monitor
This problem still exists in Lucid Beta 2. I replicated this exactly on my Acer Aspire Revo R3600 - X crashes and causes a total system hang. I can boot from the Lucid live cd but only by using the nomodeset xforcevesa options... Chewit: can you advise the workaround you used to get Lucid booting on your Revo? On a separate note (probably a papercut or another bug I guess), I find it slighly annoying that grub does not even get 1 second of screentime anymore and there is no visual queue that it can be made visible. I know we're trying to make Ubuntu boot quickly but this is not very useful when you have a system that won't boot. -- [Lucid] Xorg crashes when you plug in a monitor https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/538501 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 220795] Re: Add a New Panel menu item in the desktop context menu
I would like to request that Ubuntu goes in its own direction regarding this bug - seems like an obvious paper cut to me. If a new Ubuntu user has accidentlly removed both panels, it is extremely difficult to get them back and I could easily see it leading to a reinstall. If there is only one panel existing on the screen, could it be locked in place requiring an 'unlock panel' or could an extra warning be given before it is removed? Warning: if you remove this panel you will not be able to access some applications and settings. Are you sure? The bug referenced above in gnome.org has not been updated for over 3 years and does not seem to be a priority for them -- Add a New Panel menu item in the desktop context menu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/220795 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 344277] Re: ubiquity crashed with AssertionError in get_autopartition_choice()
I experienced the same Ubiquity crash when the installer unmounted a partition to make it available for the installer. The partition was on a SATA disk. [Bug 270374] Re: [intrepid] enter a computer name then hit enter, list stays on screen and steals input
I confirm this bug. I have a workaround instead of sudo killall tsclient from another tty. If you press the windows key you can being up the start menu on the remote computer and log off. This releases the screen back to you.
