This weekend I installed the new release of Ubuntu 12.10 with a complete
new installation. This solved the issue for me. Everyting is working
now. No further freezes during many re-starts (warm cold) boot.

Hi Colin, I think this is not a HW issue. I will install 10.4.4 when I
am back from hospital where I am now. I had this version up and running
well beside grafic not in full resolution.

I have no problems since wireless is disabled. But work with Ubuntu is
worthless without wifi now.
What can I do to enable wifi without further freezes?

I Got very helpful suggestion from Colin Ian King. Since this, I got no
further freezes. So issue might related to wireless.

I tried Ubuntu with new kernel 3.2.0-15.24 and got immediately the
screen freeze.
Tried to use magic Sys-Rq commands (Alt + SysRq + B), but they don't
worked at all. Only key thats work is internel/externel screen toggle.

Yesterday, I logged into Ubuntu 12.04 without any screen freeze!
Before I moved from living room to my bed room and swiched the notebook
on - only on battery. I noticed that I no wifi network has been shown by
Ubuntu. I switched wifi off and on - no wifi network found so far.
I moved back to

Installing Ubuntu on an Aspire 7250 looks good. But after power off the
machine and restart it on battery only the screen freeze completely.
Switching off the machine and restart with plugged power remain still
the same issue. Machine freeze again and it is not on battery!
