date. My wireless card is a Broadcom Wireless G hooked up to a Wireless
N router. It started happening immediately after I installed the

That crossed my mind but was inconsistent with reports I had heard about
it getting a Humanity-style icon and the lack of control didn't seem to
fit with where they were taking it (ie a Dropbox-like service which is
somewhat useless if you can't tell if it's working/how fast its
working/etc)

I completely agree! It looks ugly upon startup. Blocking the Firefox
search bar, of course, is a much smaller problem than the aesthetics as
the bubbles are by nature clickthrough and increasingly transparent as
you approach them.
Regardless as to whether this is fixed there should be a
Localization note: it should be Software Centre in Canadian English,
and probably every English derivate except EN-US

Happens whenever resuming from suspend.
When lifting laptop lid, I can see all the contents of my screen.
Sometimes I can mouse around. If it's the first time resuming since
I've restarted, compiz crashes (and is resumed with ALT-F2 compiz
--replace)

pavucontrol instead of the default audio control.
