[Bug 1152894] [NEW] Right click while dragging breaks mouse cursor
Public bug reported: I'm using Xubuntu 12.10 with gthumb 3.1.2 ~$ gthumb --version gthumb 3.1.2, Copyright © 2001-2010 Free Software Foundation, Inc. When I move (with click and holding the left mouse key) within a picture and accidentally click the right mouse button, the mouse cursor keeps that grabbing hand-icon and nothing is clickable anymore. The whole screen looks frozen. No mouse-hover effects, no reaction to clicks, and nearly no possibility to return. An easy workaround on XFCE 4.10 (maybe also on other desktops): Switch to another workspace with keyboard-shortcuts. The mouse will be fine again. ** Affects: gthumb (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1152894 Title: Right click while dragging breaks mouse cursor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gthumb/+bug/1152894/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 986524] Re: radeon 0000:02:00.0: GPU lockup CP stall for more than 10000msec
This problem is still reproducible (I'm still using obiaf's PPA). But I got a new clue: Lockups only occur, when I start graphic-heavy stuff (games, OpenGL, ... but not: Flash on Youtube or other media playback) with power-profile set to low on my card (HD 3650). Doing the same things on high causes no problems. I can even trick some Lockups with quick-switching from low to high-profile, when my mouse freezes and the screen starts blanking... That's my workaround for now ;) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/986524 Title: radeon :02:00.0: GPU lockup CP stall for more than 1msec To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/986524/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1082718] [NEW] XFCE should catch keybindings before other applications
Public bug reported: I realized this bug quite accidentally. I wrote a small program and a script, to toggle the volume on my hardware wheel fast. The script (changes volume via amixer set...) gives the current volume to my application which then messages my daemon to show the volume as a notify-osd message. The daemon just calls the required methods to show the notification bubble. The basic idea was to keep the bubble alive, whereas calling another notify-application more than once produces more bubbles... Long story... Now my point: When controlling the volume on the blank desktop it's fast and smooth. But trying the same with an active instance of leafpad, banshee or (the most clearly example) gedit the controlling is slow and sluggish (screencapture attached...). In some games, the keybindings have no effect at all. It seems like the xfce-keyboard-listener-daemon (or whatever ;) ) doesn't listen on the keyboard as the first application. Consequently, other applications like gedit or tuxracer (game) get the keyboard- events first and (mostly) ignore them. I'm using XFCE 4.10 installed with Xubuntu 12.10. ** Affects: xfce4-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: Screencapture https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1082718/+attachment/3443043/+files/keyboardBug-4.ogv -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1082718 Title: XFCE should catch keybindings before other applications To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-settings/+bug/1082718/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 986524] Re: radeon 0000:02:00.0: GPU lockup CP stall for more than 10000msec
No good news for me... Today my system crashed 2 times while running the radeon-driver and supertuxkart (both from oibaf's repository)... But I found (at least for me) a way to reproduce a freeze: 1. Start system. 2. Open terminal and type supertuxkart. Install this, if you havent done yet... 3. Enter and klick through the menu of new race... 4. Start playing and wait for freeze 5. Black screen every 10 seconds 6. (Try to get a running tty and save some log-files) Have you experienced just one lockup, or have you had a series of these lockups? - Mostly a series of lockups until I reboot my laptop. Sometimes even the kernel freezes... - With the stock radeon-driver 5-10 times a week. With oibaf's packages only with some applications (without them 0 times a week ;) ) When did you first notice it? - After deleting my old Ubuntu, and reinstalled Xubuntu Under what conditions does it seem most likely to reproduce? - Start some OpenGL-heavy application/games (like supertuxkart) and play a bit around. - Even 10 seconds after boot up, this can occur. So: No relation to Suspend-to-Any. I will try to get some backtraces... I did'nt had this issue with Ubuntu 11.10 and 12.04. 3 weeks ago I deleted all partitions and set up a brand new Xubuntu 12.10. These lockups occur randomly. Some of them blank the screen just once (with the 10sec of no-mouse-reaction before), the other ones keep blanking the screen every 10 secs, tty# works, but you're not able to get back a running system... They only occur when I try to open/run graphic-heavy applications (Youtube-video, openGL-Games,...). So, it's just the way how the settings-GUI is showing you this value. Still present in banshee 2.4.0 with Ubuntu 12.04: But I found out, which song is deleted ;) Maybe this will help to fix the issue: When you add different songs, albums to a non-smart play list or to the play-queue, and don't shuffle or sort by anything else than the Title ID (the very left column), the selected song or songs will be removed correctly. But(!) when you shuffle or sort Banshee won't delete a random item from the list: It deletes the item, which was on this position on the initial sorting. Example: 1. Clear the play-queue 2. Add different songs to the queue with dragdrop 3. Open the queue (don't sort or shuffle) and select one songs and delete it (should work properly) 4. Select multiple songs (still not sorted or shuffled) and delete them (still works properly) 5. Now look on the (example:) 3rd item and memorize this item. 6. Shuffle or sort the list and make sure, your memorized item is NOT on the previous position. 7. Name: VolumeUp, Command: amixer set Master 2+ (I think '1' is too slow for change). The second one for VolumeDown. Then set the key for running this command by clicking on the line and type, scroll or whatever you want to use for volume-control. The only thing which don't work is the quick-notifying (this bubble in the top-right corner) which shows the change of the volume. But now it works smooth as hell :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/871133 Title: Ubuntu Oneric Volume Step Can Not be Changed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/871133/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 913521] [NEW] After using mipmaps for effects, windows stop refreshing
Public bug reported: I'm using Ubuntu (11.10), Compiz (1:0.9.6+bzr20110929-0ubuntu6), fglrx (2:8.881-0ubuntu4.1) and everytime I select use mipmaps on any effect, like switching workspaces or desktop-cube, something strange happens: After using this effect once, I can click on one of the displayed windows, but I don't see the respone of this window (hover-effects, progress-bars don't move on, the window shows just the picture like it was before using this effect). How I fixed it before: Maximize and resize all windows once How I fixed it now: Deactivate use mipmaps on all effects. Will there be a bugfix? Can I fix it on another way? Because with mipmaps (=anti-aliasing) it looks much cooler :D ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Erik S (ofenfisch) Status: New ** Tags: mipmaps ** Changed in: compiz (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Erik S (ofenfisch) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/913521 Title: After using mipmaps for effects, windows stop refreshing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/913521/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 870930] Re: sound from all programs becomes metallic/robotic / highly corrupted
I just have a small work-around: If it is possible (RAM 2GB), you can set the swappiness lower. Public bug reported: As said in the title: Banshee doesn't show the ratings of songs which are on my iPod nano (5. generation), although the play-count and covers are all correct. [Bug 832092] Re: zeitgeist-daemon crashed with DBusException in call_blocking(): org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Disconnected: Connection was disconnected before a reply was received
@David: what is the best way to reproduce the issue? No idea. As I said, the error occurs without doing anything... is it happening every time you restart and open a session? Since a few days, it seems to be OK. But a week ago, it happened three times in a row (after 3 logins ;) ) are you using autologin? No. Maybe some others have this problem too, but it doesn't affect me anymore. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/832092 Title: zeitgeist-daemon crashed with DBusException in call_blocking(): org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Disconnected: Connection was disconnected before a reply was received To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/832092/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
