confirm that it works if I manually add the connection with nmcli,
without adding any particular arguments:

HWE kernel (5.13.0-27-generic). Here's the relevant dmesg from after the

I can confirm I'm having the same problem. This problem arised to me since
Debian Jessie. The workaround was to install Nvidia proprietary drivers, but
support for nvidia-304xx was dropped on Xorg 1.20.
Adding "NvMSI=0 NvPCIE=0" to kernel boot line seems to make crashes less
predictable.

jsalisbury, I've had this problem ever since I installed Linux. Also, I
vaguely remember seeing a similar problem on another ASUS desktop about
two years back (pretty sure it was a different model). I am only
