This doesn't seem to be fixed. I have two computers with up to date packages running nfs+kerberos+sssd and there is no idmap service and all my mounted stuff comes with those endlessly long ids indicating the idmapping didn't work. - Thus. To clarify, the problem is that the sheets tabs are hidden. It is still possible to navigate them by double-clicking the Feuilles 1/7 text but it is not obvious. Resizing the sheets tab area manually resolves the problem temporarily (once you know you can do that) but when reopening the document the tabs are hidden again. Attached file problemeooocalc.png illustrates the problem. There are 7 sheets but there is no obvious way to navigate through them. This is not entirely unlike bug 341757 but no split view is involved. I am not aware of any change before the problem started to happen (some packages might have been updated automatically). This happens with multiple users, multiple documents and multiple formats. [Bug 271045] Re: update manager and synaptic crash
The problem seems to be solved now. I got a message from another program telling me to run sudo apt-get update followed by sudo apt-get install -f. This has fixed it. But since the update manager is supposed to be doing basically the same as these commands, I don't quite understand why that application didn't fix the problem by itself. So I'm leaving the report open for right now, just in case this shows that something needs to be fixed about the update manager. Here it is. BTW, this morning the automatic file check turned up problems and told me to run fsck without options. This turned up multiply claimed blocks by several inodes, several unattached inodes, faulty reference counts and so on. Whenever a directory was mentioned, it was a subdirectory of firefox (sorry, wasn't thinking straight enough at 7 in the morning to note which one exactly, something to do with trash in any case). I upgraded my Dell Inspiron 1420 from Gutsy to Hardy today, and am experiencing the bug described here. I'm not getting any sound from the speakers, but one of the headphone jacks does work. This is broken again (still?) in Gutsy. I have a Dell Inspiron 1420, and found this bug report while trying to troubleshoot the built-in card reader (sometimes it works, sometimes not, I can give more details, but I'm not sure if they belong here or in a separate bug report?). My laptop's never been able to come back from suspend and I know it usually has these (mmc_core and sdhci) modules loaded, so I tried unloading them, suspending, and waking back up, and it went beautifully. I have this problem too. The sound is definitely working for other programs (sorry, should have stated that for sure). I went through and installed the newest version of Flash as per the instructions in the thread you linked to above, Cyrus. There is no .asoundrc file in my home directory (or in anyone else's). There are no messages (error or otherwise) when I start Firefox from the command line. I'm using Ubuntu release 7.10; 2.6.22-14-generic kernel. (Also, may be helpful to note that it's not just a problem with Youtube. I also get no sound from Pandora Radio, which is also flash based.)
