[Bug 823015] Re: Suspend/hibernate doesn't work on oneiric

I have the same problem on uptodate Xubuntu 11.04 on an Acer Aspire One (160GB HDD model) Suspend was working fine, then suddenly I get the blank screen, still backlit, and no response from keyboard, only thing I can do is hold down the power button until it powers off. I don't get a suspend

[Bug 546992] Re: Xubuntu 10.04 usb automount fails if autologin is on

2010-05-01 Thread Jose Catre-Vandis
I can confirm that USB sticks do not mount in Thunar under normal login in Xubuntu 10.04, and that the fix sudo /usr/sbin/hald does fix the problem. Now to find the way to run hald on boot. No doubt in the init scripts somewhere but has anything changed in how this operates in Lucid? -- Xubuntu

[Bug 546992] Re: Xubuntu 10.04 usb automount fails if autologin is on

2010-05-01 Thread Jose Catre-Vandis
Here is the fix: sudo nano /etc/rc.local add this above the exit 0, like so: ~~ /usr/bin/hald exit 0 ~~ Save Ensure the execution bit is set: sudo chmod u+x /etc/rc.local reboot. Inserting a USB stick should now work and appear in Thunar left hand pane -- Xubuntu 10.04

[Bug 462169] Re: nmbd dies on startup when network interfaces are not up yet

2010-04-04 Thread Jose Catre-Vandis
This has just cropped up on my PC too (Xubuntu 9.10), after installing lirc, hangs on bootup just before the login screen (slim). (smb.conf is vanilla). Wouldn't work in recovery mode, told me about the nmbd pid but wouldn't let me do anything about it so CTRL-ALT-DEL was necessary. Samba version
