Yes, it is PCManFM job to present that menu, but it is entirely depends
on Gvfs - if that operation is supported then PCManFM shows that option,
if it isn't, then doesn't. Probably in newer Ubuntu that operation was

Unfortunately it is complicate when files have the same extension as MOD
music files. In version 1.2.4 the file type guess was made more
complicated so I would suggest to try libfm4 version 1.2.4-1 which I
hope should come to Xenial shortly, your issue should be fixed now.

It is intended behavior. To start terminal on some remote server you should
start it exactly on that remote server and PCManFM cannot ever know how to do
that and if that is even possible. Imagine you open a terminal and enter a
command there:
cd ssh://some.server/etc/

In fact, using some "%s" in interpreted line is a security hole which is why it
was reworked long time ago. Now in LibFM (PCManFM) any % in 'terminal' setting
is ignored, along with everything behind it. So if you set it to

there are shown all the handlers for "inode/directory" file type which

That is very depressing nobody was so mature to read specifications and

Running pcmanfm as root means all the applications will be ran under
root which is not safe you know (well, if you want to risk your system
and walk on the blade then I can see the reason) and I never saw any
reason to run editor/browser/wine/etc. under root (and you want exactly
this, don't you?)

This is not a PCManFM issue, you should add your key into
~/.ssh/authorized_keys file on another machine and PCManFM cannot help
you with that.

I believe this bug is fixed in menu-cache version 0.5.0. Either upgrade
your system to 13.10 to use it or ask maintainers for backport but I'm

May be fixes from latest menu-cache fixing this issue should be
backported into 13.10 if it is critical, or version 0.5.1 might be
backported to 13.10. The bug is fixed in 0.5.1.
