samba service will no longer start. It simply times out and leaves
nothing the the syslog or the Samba log explaining the reason:

uses GTK-3.0 and in 3.0 they moved away from the gtkrc files and use
settings.ini files in various locations.

Fyi, for some reason the workarounds of using Ctrl + Alt + F1/F2 don't
quite work on my Thinkpad W510, it puts the machine into sleep mode.
However, Ctrl + Alt + F6 drops me to a system terminal correctly and
then Ctl + Alt + F7 brings me back to a black border free Unity.

Okay, this is a known issue with the touchscreen on the W510, and it

I will add that the only way I have found to cure the issue is to run
xinput to get a list of devices, in my case the Wacom touch input is 15.

Same here on a Lenovo Thinkpad W510. The brightness sliider in settings
does not work as well as the hardware keys. I am using Nvidia drivers.
What is also interesting is that I rebooted 2 times before now and the
hardware keys did not even bring up the brightness slider overlay on the
top right,
Okay, so how does a person who really enjoyed this bug do what it undid?
I want to alt+tab to an application and have all windows focus/appear
from that group, like Mac OS X.

It appears that the fix I applied did not work. I am upgrading system to
12.04 now, hopefully the patch is in there and will resolve issue. Will
report back.

I have these same messages on a Thinkpad W510. Mine don't seem to
accumulate. I used to see two, then I think they went away but after the
kernel update yesterday I started seeing them again.

Biggles, I found that the best thing to do right now is to disable the
second launcher menu. After the latest update yesterday my system is
recognizing the correct monitor as laptop/primary now so disabling it
works as designed.

In reference to comment #10 - This seems to be the same setting as what
is in CCSM and is great to have it there but it seems that when I select
laptop from the list it removes the menu from my laptop and places it
on the secondary monitor instead. This is what CCSM does as well. I am

K, just got a new SSD so I did another fresh install. I recreated it,
and it appears as if toggling bluetooth on and off is the cause of this.
If I restart while Bluetooth ON = mouse is locked out of OS, Bluetooth
OFF = it works.
