Francesco, what's the outcome of doing that? Does the file now appear on the recent menu? I'm not planning to download/install/try Kubuntu, so I can't try it... Also, the bug is also in KDE bugs (see Remote bug watches). Also, the actions you mentioned - should it work - seems to only be a workaround... [Bug 437195] Re: [Acer Aspire 2920] late resume failure
Still using kernel 2.6.31.11.22. This time I repeatedly tested suspending. The story is the same as above - I have to wait some 20 seconds before the computer enters suspend mode. However, after both suspend and hibernate, I have to wait some 1-2 minutes, before automatically reconnecting to network (I can right-click NetworkManager icon and choose Enable networking, which gives me immediate results) or even noticing plugged or removed laptop power cord! So, something is causing the delay. What would be the best approach to pinpointing the cause of delay? -- [Acer Aspire 2920] late resume failure https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/437195 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 437195] [NEW] [Acer Aspire 2920] late resume failure
Public bug reported: Using Karmic daily build, installed yesterday and keeping it up-to-date. Note: The computer is not Acer Aspire 2920Z, but 2920 (which is hard to come by, at least here in Finland). Suspend/hibernation used to work with 9.04. I think KMS/UXA might have something to do with it... Problem #1: Computer enters suspend after minutes instead of seconds after initiating the action from user/power menu. It may enter suspend mode even after I enter my password and continue my work - suddenly, without warning. It gets up OK, though... Problem #2: It also seems, that the computer won't enter in hibernation (or I just got bored of waiting, haha) Reproducible: To me, every time. ProblemType: KernelOops Annotation: This occured during a previous suspend and prevented it from resuming properly. The resume processing hung very near the end and will have appeared to have completed normally. I updated to kernel 2.6.31.11.22, with no or little change... I tested hibernate multiple times now, and it works fine (at least 3D, wifi + LEDs and sound works...), it just takes ages before RAM is beginning to be dumped to disk. I can move cursor around for some 20 seconds before there is any activity. Also, when the write-to-disk phase begins, the screen goes black for a second and comes back. So, I'll watch the frozen desktop until powered off. [Bug 328444] Re: gnome-terminal shortcuts: Alt+Shift+1 shows as Alt+! etc.
First, having Alt-!, Alt-@ and so on in tabs menu is wrong, and it doesn't let the user follow the logic 1 for first tab, 2 for second tab etc., instead it makes the user look for the non-numeric characters, causing confusion among non-exprerienced users. Second, have a look at eg. New Tab and Close Tab shortcut entries - Ctrl-Shift-T and Ctrl-Shift-W are given. My point is that if a shortcut requires pressing Ctrl, Shift and number 1 keys, they should be all displayed, instead of the character some combination may give and not including one or more required keys!
