Glad to see folks are working on Poppler. Something happened between
11.10 and 12.04 that breaks printing of some PDFs on Brother printers.
Reverting to Poppler 0.16.x (from 11.10) seems to help, but I have to
document the proper workaround; still verifying if Ghostscript also has
to be reverted
Non-PAE installer appears to work with latest ISO. Props to everyone

CUPS 1.5.0 Brother printers: I could print PDFs from a vendor website,

I've been playing around with the rdesktop source, and unsuccessfuly
tried to modify the xkeymap.c file. However, by converting all the
keyboard scan codes from XT to AT, except for the SHIFT CAPS keys, I
can at least get CAPS working again (NUMLOCK toggling varies).

Further testing... w t don't stay capped, regardless of which scancode
I use; holding SHIFT works fine for them though. I still believe the
permanent solution is to rewrite the keyboard handler.

CPU load
I may be experiencing this bug in Hardy. It occurs alongside a CPU load
of 100%, and can be temporarily resolved by switching the appearance of
the windows to something different. This also happens regardless of the
Visual Effects level. I am using an onboard Intel video chipset from
about 3 years
Found another bug that may be related to this. My system doesn't lockup
fully, but Pidgin gets close to 100% load at times, and that's fixed by
switching the appearance in GNOME.

On my Feisty router Dell PIII-1ghz with custom 2.6.22 kernel, the
