In my case with Parrot Linux it was a case of Interrupt conflicts.
IRQ#18 kept being disabled by the system. After disabling the EHCI
Handoff in the BIOS,ehci_hcd:usb1 was replaced with ehci_hcd:usb2 and

kde shows the animated splash screen when loading and then a black
screen

What have I done?
start kubuntu 15.04
when freezing with a black screen: Ctrl + Alt + F1
cd /var/crash sudo rm *; etc
startx
Ctrl+Alt+F1
ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_usr_bin_ksplashqml.1000.crash

kubuntu 15.04 worked fine.
I did the software updates and switched to the nvidia driver. Restart
ok.
I made some adaptions to the favorite menue. Then I used System Settings to

BIOS is updated. But, concerning my installation of kubuntu 15.04, there is no
change.
