For me this problem was fixed by uninstalling the HP recovery stuff from windows as it was overwriting parts of grub2 at every opportunity. I don't know if this is a good solution. But HP:s stuff assumed there was an ntloader and wrote stuff where ntloader shouldn't be without checking if the

Yes the server iso boots fine. I went through the first steps ofdebian-installer and bailed when I got to the partitioner. I would say it is likely an xorg problem, but it is an xorg problem that blocks any usage of the live cd or graphical installer. Thus it is a bug for the entire live-cd.
