[Bug 2051383] Re: gnome-shell high CPU utilization when moving a high frequency mouse
To answer your first question: I'm testing on a freshly booted system with no applications running. Regarding extensions: After I disable the Desktop Icons NG extension (appears to be one of the built-ins), peak CPU usage for gnome-shell goes from ~55% to ~35% when moving over an empty desktop. When moving over an application such as gnome-terminal, CPU usage for gnome-shell increases to ~60% both with and without this extension (and also gnome-terminal itself consumes about 25%). Besides that I have Ubuntu Dock and Ubuntu AppIndicators - disabling them didn't affect CPU usage. evtest output attached. ** Attachment added: "evtest.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/2051383/+attachment/5749814/+files/evtest.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2051383 Title: gnome-shell high CPU utilization when moving a high frequency mouse To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/2051383/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1926398] [NEW] Nautilus doesn't show folder name in Operations dialog
Public bug reported: When I copy a directory from one disk to another, Nautilus won't show its name next to the progress bar. It simply says "Copying N files to diskName". I think it should say something like: "Copying N files in directoryName to diskName". Reason: When you copy 2 big directories with a lot of files to the same destination and want to know which one is which, you can't differentiate between them since the directory name is not shown. If you want to cancel one of them, you also don't know which X button to click. See my attached screenshot. [Bug 1792779] [NEW] DNS host name resolution doesn't work
Public bug reported: After each reboot of my system systemd adds 127.0.0.53 to /etc/resolv.conf, which breaks host name resolution, for example I can no longer visit sites in Firefox and ping them by host name. [Bug 1746372] Re: [Asus K501UQ] Touchpad stops working after suspend
1) I've been using the drivers from NVIDIA with the normal (not mainline) kernel 4.13.0-32 for the past week and haven't had this touchpad issue. 2) When I resume from suspend the touchpad either works or it doesn't. It always stops working after I suspend/resume a few times. How much times can vary, but it's inevitable. The problem with the display occurs only when I enable pm_trace and then suspend and resume. 3) I don't think I can remove the NVIDIA card from this laptop. [Bug 1746372] Re: [Asus K501UQ] Touchpad stops working after suspend
1. The issue occurs when resuming from suspend. 2. Suspend by closing the lid. 3. Resume by lifting the lid. 4-10. Can't provide this information because I can't get to the console after waking up. 11. See suspend_stats.txt. 12. Can't SSH into the laptop after resume - ssh says "No route to host". But under normal conditions I can SSH into it. ** Attachment added: "Output of suspend_stats" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1746372/+attachment/5048490/+files/suspend_stats.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1746372 Title: [Asus K501UQ] Touchpad stops working after suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1746372/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I was wrong, this didn't fix the bug. After a few more suspends and wakes the touchpad is dead again. [Bug 1746372] Re: [Asus K501UQ] Touchpad stops working after suspend
This patch worked for me with v4.15 kernel: https://paste.ubuntu.com/26496011/ I basically found the old patch and added an entry for K501UQ there. [Bug 1746372] [NEW] Touchpad stops working after suspend
Public bug reported: I have an issue similar to this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1490130 but for another ASUS laptop model - K501UQ. When Ubuntu wakes up after suspend touchpad doesn't work. Moreover, using "sudo reboot" doesn't work too (not sure if it's the same bug). When I try to reboot the system hangs, only hard reboot helps. [Bug 1593918] [NEW] KDE appearance is messed up when installed on a system with Unity/GNOME
Public bug reported: I installed plasma-desktop and subsequently kubuntu-dekstop packages on a system running Ubuntu 16.04 LTS that already had Unity and GNOME installed. There are a number of problems with regards to KDE appearance settings. In particular, changing the icon theme in Settings -> Icons does not seem to have any effect whatsoever. I tried changing mine to Breeze and Breeze-dark as well as other icon themes coming with Ubuntu install, and none of them worked: either in Dolphin or KDE menu. Another problem is the size of font used in KDE menu: it's too big (see the screenshot). Changing font size in system settings didn't change it. None of this issues occur if I run Kubuntu 16.04 from a live CD, so I presume it has something to do with my existing configuration. Deleting ~/.kde and ~/.config didn't have any positive effect though. [Bug 1437411] [NEW] Keyboard layout indicator shows wrong layout
Public bug reported: I have two keyboard layous: English (en) and Russian (ru). [Bug 1090926] [NEW] Alt/Shift key not released after keyboard layout switch
Public bug reported: Sometimes after I change keyboard layout with Alt+Shift the Alt key somehow is not recognized as being released which leads to very frustrating effects like losing all form-fill data in Firefox because you press the Home key while typing. The worst thing is that even after this the key still remains unreleased after multiple keypresses like if I'm holding it all the time! Same goes for the Shift key - it feels like you suddenly pressed Caps Lock but the LED indicator is not turned on. This happens in Ctrl+Shift mode as well.
