I tested the installation again, but without physical RAID0 and it worked
almost fine : the installer showed me a it seems there is a GPT table
error, asking if GPT table is present or not because. I answered yes and
everything then worked fine.

2014-10-09 Thread sheol
Public bug reported:

After playing around in live cd, I wanted to install 14.10 beta to my hard

Not really a bug in any code anywhere, just someones sysadmin problem.

This is largely solved:

However the chipset appears to still be a bit away from full support,
since the display continues to have minor side effects. It is likely
these will all be solved with future driver upgrades.

[Bug 130715] Re: dhclient already running, must kill to connect with wireless

2007-08-06 Thread Sheol
Okay I found the problem and the solution but it is still a bug.

my /etc/network/interfaces
was trying to bring up the device before it was ready and thus creating a bogus
empty pid file.

By commenting essentially everything out of the file I got normal
behavior back. (In this case I mean normal except that the netowork
managers seem useless.)

That being said this is still clearly a bug.

[Bug 126860] Suddenly dropped from sudoers list

2007-07-18 Thread Sheol
Public bug reported:

I have a 2 day old installation of Kubuntu Fesity on an x61s laptop. I had
several applications open. I saw that there was an update waiting, so I
clicked on the icon. When asked for a password, I entered it. It said the
password was wrong. I entered it again then it said su returned with error.
I opened a terminal and discovered that sudo was not working at all anymore.
I rebooted, went into recovery mode and ran visudo. My username was not in the
sudoers list so I added it and now everything is working smoothly again. I
however have absolutely no idea why this happened.
