We had a similar issue with our MySQL server farm (seven dedicated MySQL
servers). Replication was very slow, falling behind for no apparent
reason. We were reaching 24 hours of lag! We never had that kind of lag

Followup. I found my problem and corrected it. It was my USB keyboard.
My keyboard is a "Microsoft Natural Ergonomics Keyboard 4000 v1.0".

The fix around this issue is a poor solution. We were just hit hard with this
very issue running MySQL server on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. We increased the size of
the server and the open files limit and Ubuntu would not honor it. It took many
many man hours to stuble onto a post describing the problem

We just had a similar incident.
The local server autofs mounts a remote NFS. The remote server unexpectidly
powered off (no normal shutdown). The remote server was powered back on however
the local server was not able to access the remote NFS's. It appears the local
server never umounted the rem
I installed the proposed changes and performed a VPN (PPTP) connection a
Windows 2008 Server. I initiated the connection via the Unity Network
GUI (Right-click network icon, VPN -> MyVPN Connection). The proposed
