[Bug 925836] Re: printing multiple copies does not work

2012-03-09 Thread Weiers
Note, I suspect this is also associated with this problem. I've tried to
send three seperate print commands one after the other (using the large
document attached to my previous entry). Only the first print command
seems to have made its way into cups. The printer stopped printing after
the first document was finished, it waited a while and ejected a blank
page.

[Bug 925836] Re: printing multiple copies does not work

2012-03-08 Thread Weiers
Same problem. I have to print 35 copies of a 16 page document with a long edge
double sided option. Asking it to print multiple copies has no effect.

from Windows XP to the HP1020 on my Ubuntu machine.

[Bug 96454] Re: [Feisty] MASTER: HP LaserJet 1000/1005/1018/1020 don't work because of missing firmware

2007-05-25 Thread Weiers Coetser
Unless I am misunderstanding something we can already download the
firmware using the Getweb command in Feisty. It is downloaded as an .img
file. It needs to be converted to a .dl file before being copied over to
usr/share/foo2zjs/firmware.

I wish that the process could somehow be automated in Gutsy so that the
user don't have to know how to do this. It should just be done. Perhaps
a user could be prompted about the legal copyright aspects before
installing the firmware.

I guess that is not a driver issue, but a feature that would have to be
built into CUPS. (?)

[Bug 65618] Re: Firmware upload to LJ 1000/1005/1008/1020 broken (fix to be proposed as Edgy update)

2007-04-11 Thread Weiers Coetser
I had to re-install ubuntu recently and decided to install Feisty Beta.
My printer did not work automatically.

I followed the instructions to download the firmware (getweb 1020) and to
change the downloaded .img file into a .dl file (sudo arm2hpdl sihp1020.img
sihp1020.dl).
I copied this firmware file into /usr/share/foo2zjs/firmware/

Only then did my printer print out a test page.

Did I understand correctly that this problem will only be fixed in
Feisty +1?

In that case, I think it would be important to write a descent how to
somewhere to install the printer. I think this printer is very popular
because it is cheap. I would be quite prepared to write a how-to like
this if somebody else can confirm that this is still a problem in
feisty.

[Bug 50559] Re: hp laserjet 1020 doesn't work

2007-04-11 Thread Weiers Coetser
After downloading the firmware file I had to convert the downloaded file
from a sihp1020.img file to 1020.dl file

I used this command: sudo arm2hpdl sihp1020.img sihp1020.dl

Then I had to copy it into /usr/share/foo2zjs/firmware/sihp1020.dl

Then I switched the printer on, and added the printer to the computer
printers and it worked

[Bug 96454] Re: Instalation of HP Laserjet 1020 don`t functional

2007-04-11 Thread Weiers Coetser
I found that getweb 1020 downloaded a sihp1020.img file.

This needs to be converted to a sihp1020.dl file.

The command to do this is
sudo arm2hpdl sihp1020.img sihp1020.dl

And then copy it to the /usr/share/foo2zjs/firmware/ folder.

[Bug 72262] Re: Form Wizard in Base does not complete

I've just done a clean install of Ubuntu 7.04 and the bug still exists.
It creates the form on my screen (using writer) and displays all the
fields, but when I press Finish, nothing happens.

[Bug 39484] Re: cups smb printing backend no longer works

2006-12-21 Thread Weiers Coetser
I also get the cupsdAuthorize: Local authentication certificate not
found!

Last week I was able to print to my HP1020 and my HP 5L which was
installed on my wife's Windows XP box. Then I nuked Windows, installed
Edubuntu (fiesty), and it also worked. Then I wanted to do some file
sharing and installed Samba, and suddenly my printers stopped working. I
cannot get either of them going on my Edubuntu box, or on my Ubuntu box
which has samba installed.

Today I tried to remove Samba completely, but I was still not able to
get the printer going.

Is there any way I can resolve this issue? (Is it still seen as a bug?)
