I found a fix for the problem. I got a new Unix based operating system and
now am finally free from windows. I have been using this new operating
system now for almost 6 months and IT IS BULLETPROOF. The feature are

Close them all, I got so disgusted with no support, I bought a MacBook. I
finally found a good operating system WITH good support. I never could get
any support in Ubuntu. I haven't touched it in at least 6 - 8 months but

Way to late, bought a MacBook. Love it.
Can you delete me from these?

Your comments were not really constructive, helpful, or nor do they in
anyway acknowledge a very real problem with an ubuntu installation
gone very wrong. It takes nearly 5 minutes to boot. Nothing that I
have done changed any configuration other then stock installation. I

it's version of unix is supported. Support from Ubuntu is a little sad...

slower at any rate.
No you can close it, I think it is fixed, but I wish they would fix the
others...

Gutsy however and going back to Feisty with all that entails because Gutsy

Not Sure if that would help for me. I have a stock Compaq presario and do
not know which driver to experiment with. I am afraid it would destroy my
screen and block me from un-doing the attempt. Still crashes.
