[Bug 347453] Re: [upstream] Calc Input bar error looses last character of pasted content
Yes. This is obvious a very old bug now and exiting the cell that additional space is properly removed but perhaps it shouldn't be introduced. It seems the added whitespace isn't actually there but just the appearance of it. So, if you now press backspace to delete that whitespace, it is the last character of the content that's removed. Example, pasting test content value from another cell, you see what appears to be a space suffix, but deleting that space deletes the last character non-obviously. You see test as expected in the input bar with the suffix space removed but in the cell you see the reality tes. That truncated result then is the stored value when you exit the cell. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/347453 Title: [upstream] Calc Input bar error looses last character of pasted content -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox Firefox 3.6.3 crashes promptly as it follows a link from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eH4oGJcCzdM through to iTunes. [Bug 370855] Re: Pasting with Middle Mouse Button into Gnome Terminal Delivers Multiple Copies
Rethinking the above.. the pasting occurs only if the terminal is already open. Opening one after copying doesn't work but that might be a normal function in Ubuntu?.. So, back one step.. it's reproducible, happening in new users as well; in terminal, gedit, terminator. It just seems the mouse is acting overly sensitive. Trying now to alter slightly the timing of the single click gives mostly two, occasionally three pastes. Holding it down can spawn endless pastes but only it seems after some slight pause. I don't know if that is designed in and the first paste it still the issue or if I just need a new mouse?? Yes - reproducible. Stupidly, I'd not thought to try outside terminal but yes it's happening in gedit too. One new thing.. again every time.. copying within the terminal or within gedit the middle mouse doesn't paste. It's seems to be only from input the like of firefox, or email text that's doing this. That difference might be some polymorphic issue??.. that is, it seems copying plain text only is not pasting anything. [Bug 347453] [NEW] Openoffice Calc Input bar error looses last character of pasted content
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org If one cell contains a formula =test and that cell is then copied and the content pasted into the 'input line' bar, so that the value only is pasted, there is then a white space apparent in the 'input line' bar. That whitespace doesn't disappear on exit+reentry to the cell and when it's deleted, rather than remove whitespace, results in the last character from the real cell's content being removed rather than any whitespace that the input bar suggests is there. Even the Ctrl- Alt-Backspace is unresponsive for a good 10-20 secs, eventually it does reset itself back to login for a new session but obvious a nuisance. [Bug 231078] [NEW] Firefox right click menu has a mind of its own
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox-3.0 This is hard to reliably reproduce but frequent enough to be a real nuisance. When Firefox isn't busy right-click apparently works fine. It's usually when I'm opening multiple links to load in the background.. a reddit.com list of links for example. Trying to reproduce this by opening multiple links in other tabs one after another the closest I'm getting is an occasional slow-down of the display menu, so I wonder it might be an extension of that when a page displaying is taking more effort?? [Bug 217926] [NEW] Hardy upgrade on Dell Insipiron 530 fails badly
Public bug reported: !! Upgrade from Gutsy to Hardy on Dell Inspiron 530 just failed badly. Apparently stopping at some ata related error. [Bug 163664] Re: spreadsheet query multiple-sort corrupts on edit
Sorry, I should have been clearer, this was regarding the database software not the spreadsheet. I wonder that I've used the 'Report a bug' function from the help menu and surprised it's only noted openoffice and not more specific. This was [day, month, year] sorted by month, day became sorted by day, month. I've tried to recreate the problem just now, since this was from November, but it seems to have been resolved. [Bug 163664] spreadsheet query multiple-sort corrupts on edit
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org A spreadsheet query with a multiple sort, doesn't remember the sort if it's edited and instead replaces with a simple sort, confusing the original presentation. For instance, display columns [day, month, year] but sort by month then day. That original sort works correctly if there is a forth duplicate column day (day1) right of the month sort. However saving and editing then shows instead the sort now is day then month, with the fourth column showing unsorted. ** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- spreadsheet query multiple-sort corrupts on edit https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/163664 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I've no reason to think it is.. I've only seen it with Firefox recently past few weeks. It's been a very stable system for the two years I've had it. [Bug 117853] Bad case matching on message filters
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution Message filters for sender field, and likely all email address fields, appear to be exactly matching case. Unlike URL's where case can matter on some servers, a email address' case is not important. That is an email [EMAIL PROTECTED] is identical to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and should be recognised as such but isn't filtered unless exact match is requested. Because of this user can't setup filters with any confidence that mail will be caught, so is limited to blacklisting rather than effective whitelisting. jinxed.. doh From force of habit I used Firefox again and it crashed leaving grub corrupt! [Bug 117078] Re: firefox crashed
Thanks Hilario There is no crash report in /var/crash and I have only NoScript as an addon. However, trying again, I have reproduced this now three times today but as before with a slight inconsistency. It seems to occur when a page change is requested from a partly downloaded page. Reproduced here by going to Google search Ubuntu themes + choose the Wallpapers from the list http://www.gnome-look.org/index.php?xcontentmode=170x171x172x173x174 then either before that page has fully loaded switch to Most downloads or click another tab and then change tab before half way through the page load. Mouse cursor will still move but unresponsive.. moving off the Firefox browser doesn't fall back to another window, as above, keyboard unresponsive to shutdown quits etc. I had to clear cache to reproduce the third time.. If there is a about:command or other firefox diagnostic and logs that might help, let me know. -- firefox crashed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/117078 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 117078] Firefox freezing Ubuntu forcing reboot
Public bug reported: I've just had Firefox freezing Ubuntu x10 in a row! The whole system locks up and is unresponsive.. mouse cursor is frozen and keyboard unresponsive.. I guess the windows manager crashes. I've seen other more specific bug reports but I can't relate to them. The only unique thing I have here is AMD64 and maybe that I click links before pages are fully loaded. There's no obvious consistency is the cause or timing.. though it's always just as a link is clicked. Twice was at gnome-look.org wallpapers, resorting by most downloaded but this has happened often on other sites.. rebooting and returning in the same way to the same page doesn't freeze up. This last hour the most frequently by far. Last time was clicking the registration link from the email from this site.. almost put me off. I'm new to Linux so don't know the best way to capture useful data on this. Java not running, Javascript is enabled and certainly the sites it happens on are the type to use it and the links that cause it may well be javascripted (guess). Serious bug.. I'll look for another browser till it's fixed.. ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Firefox freezing Ubuntu forcing reboot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/117078 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
